My favorite thing about Fall is the crisp, cool air with a smoky, burning leaves scent floating around and filling the neighborhood. It makes me wanna wrap myself in a wool blanket and sip a hot beverage, like apple cider or hot chocolate. Or maybe a cool, refreshing glass of wine. Here we will tell you about eight drink recipes as crisp as the autumn air, that you can enjoy this fall.
We’re gonna start off with a fun combination of our favorite fall drink: apple cider, our favorite fall treat: caramel apples all wrapped up in a pretty like mule bow.
The simplest way to make this is to use 1-1 1/2 oz caramel vodka, 3-3.5 ounces apple cider, and a some caramel syrup, shaken and then poured over ice. You can top it with a splash of ginger beer, and fresh lime juice for extra kick.
You can’t do autumn without some pumpkin spice in your life, oh and Kahlua. It’s like all things white girls like in one tasty alcoholic beverage!
In a shaker filled with ice, combine 1 1/2 parts Kahlua Pumpkin Spice, 1 1/2 parts Butterscotch Schnapps and 1/2 part heavy cream, then shake vigorously. Pour into martini glass and enjoy on your back porch whilst sitting around a fire.
So holy crap I’m really excited about this one because chai tea is one of my favorite beverages ever and I actually can’t wait to try this!
For this recipe you’ll need chai tea bags (1 bag per 6 cups of water), 2 ounces vanilla vodka, 3/4 amaretto liqueur, 1/2 oz. simple sugar, and 1/2 oz. half in half.
Bring 3 cups of water to a boil, then steep 4 tea bags for 2-4 minutes (as per directions on the tea bags’ box), then allow to cool in refrigerator for a short while.
Combine all ingredients in a shaker and shake vigorously or if in a tall glass stir generously. Pour into tall glass with ice and garnish with cinnamon stick.
While classically a summer beverage, these spiced apple margaritas with sugar and salted rims and the right ingredients make the perfect crisp fall drink.
Per margarita you’ll need 2 oz. resposado (meaning, rested in a barrel) tequila, 1-2 ounces apple juice or cider, 3/4 ounces or a medium fresh lime, squeezed, 1 tsp honey simple syrup or 3/4 tsp agave nectar, and a dash of cinnamon.
First prepare your honey and simple syrup (1/4 cup water and 1/4 cup honey), by heating it over medium heat in a small saucepan, stirring frequently until honey is dissolved. Remove pan from heat and set aside.
On a small plate, blend the sugar, salt and cinnamon using a fork. To rim the tops of the glasses run a lime wedge over their edges, then the rim of the glass through the spice mixture on the plate. Fill glass with ice.
In a cocktail shaker, filled with ice, you can make 2-3 drinks at once by pouring tequila, apple cider or juice, lime, honey simple syrup and cinnamon in, and shaking well for 20 seconds. Pour contents into glasses and garnish with a star anise for extra festive fall aesthetic.
Not all drink recipes need to be boozy (although you can totally make this a boozy one with a dash or two of vodka). Hot chocolate has always been one of my favorite hot drinks during the chilly time of year.
In a large mug add 3 tbsp. instant hot chocolate mix (like Ovaltine), 1 tbsp. chocolate syrup, 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon, 1 pinch of chilli powder, and 1/4 cup milk. Then add 3/4 cup boiling water and stir.
If you thought we were done with apple cider, you are mistaken. But don’t worry these are super simple, and super delicious. After having a couple of these falling into a pile of raked leaves is gonna feel extra amazing!
On a small plate combine 2 tbsp. sugar and 1 tbsp. ground cinnamon. Take your champagne flute or glass, wet the edges with water and run the rim along the sugar and cinnamon mixture so the rim is dusted. Then fill your glass 1/4 of the way full with apple cider and fill the rest with champagne. Garnish with an apple slice and enjoy!
For this robust, flavorful drink you’ll need 2 oz. rye whiskey, .25 oz pure maple syrup, (grade B if you want a richer taste), 3 dashes of chocolate bitters and an orange twist with scorched orange oil.
In a large glass combine everything and stir well. To release the oils from an orange zest over the drink, use a flaming wood pick. Then serve. Preferably around a campfire.
It’s time to get serious. It’s time to get white girl wasted.
In a cocktail shaker place 2 ounces Caramel vodka, 2 ounces Pumpkin Spice liquor, and 2 ounces RumChata, Taking your shot glasses run them through corn syrup to wet them, then line the rims with colored sugar. Pour contents of shaker into glasses and top with whipped cream.
