Dress Shoes are crucial in any woman’s closet. When you’re young, you never know when you’re going to need to pull out a pair of nice heels or boots for a special occasion. Why? You’re too busy having fun with friends and having the time of your life. But as you grow older, your thoughts alter and you realize how important it is to keep a variety of shoes in your closet for random events that pop up every now and then, even they’re in a bin behind your bedroom door. Now that I am older and wiser, formal events have become a constant which means dress shoes are a must have item. But the good thing about them, is that you don’t wear them on a daily basis which means that they will last for years and years as long as they are properly cared for. If you’re not sure which Dress Shoes to purchase, don’t worry. I have a list of Dress Shoes that when you purchase them, they will never go out of style.
Heels are a must have dress shoe in every woman’s closet. What I love about them is that they can fancy up any outfit and when taking them off, dressing down an outfit is EASY. I know that many of you probably do not like wearing heels and that is totally understandable. If you have read any of my articles in the past, then you have learned that I am not a girly girl whatsoever. I don’t like to dress up, wear dresses and heels are definitely not my best-friend. But… that’s okay! If you’re like me, then welcome to the not-so-girly club. Although, if I’m being honest, I have learned that finding a love for heels takes time. Lots and lots of time. Why? There are SO many choices to pick from when it comes to heels and it takes just one pair to find out that they are actually… not so bad afterall. I only know this from experience because I recently went to a wedding in Virginia and was freaking out because I had no idea what to wear with my dress. I knew heels would be the best choice, but “heels… ugh” I thought to myself. Eventually, with little time to spare, I bought a pair from Lulu’s– my favorite online shopping store and surprisingly, I wore them! It truly had everything to do with the heel and the heel was only an inch or two which was perfect.
I guess what I am trying to say is… take a chance and buy a pair of heels. If they don’t fit, return them for a different size. If the heel is too tall, go shorter. Or if you’re like me, you will purchase your first pair and instantly love them. In fact, I bought the same pair in two colors–black and white!
Curious to which heel I bought? Check out the Harper Black Suede Ankle Strap Heels from Lulus. They are usually $42.00 but are on sale right now for $33.60.
Want a heel that is taller? Purchase the Hailee Sandal from DSW. The heel is 3” and the price is only $44.99
Why are nude pumps a crucial shoe item in every woman’s closet? They go with just about any outfit that you choose to put together. It doesn’t matter how long or short the dress is, if it’s jeans, what color your shirt is… nude pumps will complete it if you’re unsure of what to wear for shoes, especially if it’s for work or a late dinner with some girlfriends. What I love about this specific type of heal is that it’s closed toe and if you’re self conscious like me (although I LOVE my pair of heels from Lulu’s) then this pair might just be perfect for you. I guess I better go and purchase a pair just in case!
Check out DSW’s Misha Pump. Price: $39.99
If you’re not a fan of heels (like I once was all those years ago), then heels will most likely be your second choice of Dress Shoes. I love flats. I began wearing them at a very young age when I would have athletic awards in school and I even have a pair of black flats today… just in case! Flats are great because they won’t make your feet tired or pinch the back of your heel like heels sometimes do. They’re comfortable, chic, go well with almost any outfit that you’re trying to put together and they’re on the affordable side, too. You can wear them to the office, at an after work event or even while running errands downtown. It’s completely up to you and no matter how you decide to style your ballet flats, you will still look as fashionable as ever!
Check out Amazon Essentials Women’s Pointed-Toe Ballet Flat. Price: $24.00
Are you looking for a pair of flats are that are more on the pricier side? I am a big fan of J.Crew and this is where you can purchase the Zoe ballet flats in leather. Price: $128.00
I have never owned a pair of loafers, but many of my friends say that these Dress Shoes are to die for and that they are a crucial shoe in every woman’s closet. Not only can they make an outfit look more sophisticated, but they’re comfortable because they’re flat and can even make for the perfect everyday shoe. If you don’t want to wear the everyday ballet flat, then step it up a notch and purchase a pair of loafers. Apparently (and I will have to try for myself) you will not regret it!
Check out Sam Edelman’s Loraine Bit Loafer. Price: $98.00
