I know that I have so many pairs of shoes that I don’t know what to do with all of them. They overflow my closet and I have nowhere to put them, leaving messy piles lying around that eventually cause damage to my flats and sandals. If this is a problem for you, then you have to try this DIY shoe hanger activity. Just take wire hangers from around the house and turn them into shoe hangers! Perfect to help organize your closet.
All you need are wire hangers and a pair of pliers, and you’re ready to get started.
First, cut off the bottom of the hanger, like shown in the picture.
Next roll up the edges. This way, there’s no sharp pieces sticking out.
Bend each side of the hanger into a U sort of shape, trying to make it as even as possible. If your wire hangers are flimsy enough, this can also be done with the use of your hands.
And now you have a perfect way to store all those shoes! Good for flats and sandals. Epbot, where I got my images and tips from, also shows how to decorate the hangers if you’d like, adding some paint and a hanger jacket to the finished product.
If you’re looking for some way to also use the bottom part of the hanger you cut off, or if you have no room in your closet to hang up the shoes but have some empty wall space, this blog has tips for you.
