A DIY shirt dress is a really chic way to fix up an old, large t-shirt you have or a plain t-shirt dress if you have one of those. There’s no sewing involved, so it’s really not that complicated to make! All you need is a t-shirt that is long enough to be a dress and big enough that it drapes your body comfortably, and a pair of scissors.
First try the shirt on and measure on the shirt where your waist is. Your waist is the smallest part of your torso. Then measure up about 4 inches for cutting later.
Now cut out little triangles on each side, being careful not to unattach the top of the shirt from the bottom. Err on the side of caution; you can always cut more off if you don’t cut off enough for your taste, but reattaching pieces back to the shirt would take a lot more time and effort.
This is the only part that could get a little confusing. Use your right hand and take the bottom part of the t-shirt, and pull it through the opening on the upper left side. Your shirt should be inside out after you finish. Then repeat this step to get the double twist, one in front and one in back.
Now you have a trendy new dress to wear without spending a dime!
