10 DIY Disney Projects To Do At Home

So you’re stuck at home with nothing to do but binge Disney movies all day. If you’re a die-hard Disney fan this is never a boring day for you. Why not give your day a little extra magic? DIY Disney projects are super fun and easy to do. Sometimes you could just use household objects to make the most of your Disney day. So let me throw a little magic your way with this adorable DIY Disney project.

1. DIY Mickey Ears

This DIY Disney project is probably the one that you’ll find online the most. Make your very own Disney Mickey Ears at home! It’s a super easy DIY Disney project and only requires a few materials. All you’ll need is a black headband, the fabric of your choice, hot glue, cardboard, and sewing materials. You will use the cardboard to cut out the desired ear shapes that will go onto the headband. Next, you will cut out the fabric to wrap around the cardboard for stability. Sew the fabric shut around the cardboard. Use hot-glue to glue the ears you made onto the headband. Now you have your own DIY Mickey Ears!

2. Welcome Sign

This DIY Disney project is a personal favorite of mine because I think it’s absolutely adorable and truly ties into the theme of bringing Disney magic home. For this DIY all you will need is a plank of wood or canvas, rope, and some paint! Possibly stencils if you want to be specific. On the wooden plank, you can paint your favorite Disney welcome sign onto it! My personal favorite is the quote for the park entrance that reads “Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy.” It’s a lovely touch to welcome anyone into your home. After you paint your new welcome sign, glue some rope to the back so you can hang it up on your wall or your front door to welcome people into your magical home.

3. Disney Shirts

This DIY Disney project is a really simple one that you can easily do at home with things you’ve got lying around. All you’ll need is an old shirt and some paint, preferably fabric paint. On the shirts paint some of your favorite Disney characters to really make them unique! You could also use fabric markers to write your favorite Disney quotes on the shirts too. This DIY Disney project is totally customizable to fit what you love and your favorite things about Disney.

4. Pencil Holders

I love this DIY Disney project because it only requires 2 things. All you’ll need is a mason jar and paint! You can paint onto the mason jar your favorite Disney or Pixar characters. This a fun DIY Disney project to do that is going to give your room a little extra Disney magic. Your desk will look extra colorful with your favorite characters there to hold your pencils while you work.

5. Star Wars Light Switch

For this DIY Disney project, all you will need is a white light switch cover and some black paint. This one is for the Star Wars lovers out there. It’s the easiest DIY Disney project you can do to really bring out your inner Jedi. Take the white light switch and paint on the top of it “The Light Side” and on the bottom “The Dark Side”. It’s a really fun touch to your room and a little play on the different sides in the Star Wars universe. If you want to get really detailed you can paint a Luke Skylwaker silhouette on top and a Darth Vader silhouette on the bottom. You could even play around with colors like blue and red to better indicate the dark and light sides.

6. Disney Ornaments

Perfect for the holidays is this DIY Disney project. Painting your own ornaments is always a fun thing to do because it means your tree is going to be decorated exactly how you want it to be. You can do this simply by getting a piece of cardboard and cutting it into the desired shape or just a plain circle. Puncture a hole in it and use some string to tie onto the top. Paint the desired Disney design onto both sides of the cardboard and now you have a Disney ornament! You can also buy a clear ornament ball and paint onto that as well for a different type of ornament.

7. Disney Shoes

Another classic DIY Disney project is painting your own shoes! This DIY is really simple because it just requires you to have a blank pair of shoes and some paint. Onto the blank shoes paint your favorite Disney movie scenes or characters. You can go as vibrant or as minimal as you want with these because it’s all up to you! I think some of the best painted Disney shoes I’ve seen are the ones that just simply have a little hidden Mickey on the side of the front. It’s a nice touch that still shows off the Disney love.

8. Wreath

A cute little touch to any home during the holidays is a wreath. Why not try and make your own Disney wreath at home! You can make the holiday wreath from the Nightmare Before Christmas. All you need for this DIY Disney project is a blank fake leaf wreath, some felt, and a red ribbon. Cut the felt into the desired shapes of the eyes and the teeth. Tie the ribbon into a big bow. With hot glue, glue on all the pieces that will make up the wreath. Now you’ve got the perfect holiday Disney wreath that will totally make Jack jealous.

9. Mickey Journal

This DIY Disney project is a really cute one because it’s a great way to personalize an everyday object. Take an old journal or purchase a journal with a blank cover. Paint half of the cover of the journal blank then on the bottom of the journal paint it a bright red. Add on two little yellow dots to the red bottom. Now you’ve got yourself a Mickey pants journal cover! You can do this using any classic Disney character like yellow and red for Pooh Bear, or making the yellow spots white polka dots for Minnie Mouse. It’s a really simple way to have some of your Disney favorite characters with you wherever you go.

10. Disney Accent Wall

This project is one of the bigger ones that require all of your faith, trust, and pixie dust. Choose a wall in your home that you think could use a little flair and why not make it a Disney themed accent wall. Paint a mural if you want to. You could also keep it simple and just paint on your favorite characters or quotes. This wall is up to your interpretation but it’s a DIY Disney project that will surely take up your time and be worth it in the end! Just make sure you’ve got paint of the original wall color in case you want to change it in the future.
