DIY Color Soles

Have a pair of your favorite black heels that are looking a little worn? Or are you just looking to add some color to some plain shoes? Painting the soles of your shoes with nail polish is a great DIY way to liven up any pair, and it’s not hard to do either.

Materials:

  • Shoes
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • White nail polish
  • Nail polish color of choice
  • Paint brush
  • Plate(s)

First, put some rubbing alcohol on the soles of the shoes you’re painting. This will help the color to stick to the sole a little better.

Then prime the soles with white nail polish. This well help give it a base and make it easier for real color to stick (unless of course, you want your shoes to have white bottoms).

I would probably just pour the nail polish out onto a paper plate or something else and use a real paint brush, because painting that whole large area with a small nail polish brush would probably take a while.

Let that dry and then paint the soles with the color that you want, using either a new brush or washing the old one. After one coat it will probably be looking a little thin, so just wait for it to dry and do at least one more coat.

Now just wait for the paint to dry, and wear them!
