DIY Color Code Keys with Nail Polish
This is a really simple DIY that doesn’t take too much time, and is super helpful. When you have a lot of keys on a ring, it can be hard to figure out which one is which. Just using nail polish, you can color code your keys so you, or anyone else using your keys won’t get confused. Plus your keys will more appealing. All you need is different colors of nail polish (depending on how many keys you have) and your keys.
To make sure that the line at the bottom is straight and that the keys won’t move around while you’re painting, you can tape your keys down. This doesn’t matter too much, but it helps with aesthetics.
Now just paint one side of the tops of your keys with nail polish, using a different color for each one. I would refrain from painting the whole key because it may lead to problems with using it. However many coats you want to put on is up to you, and the quality of your nail polish.
Wait for it to dry completely before you flip them over and paint the other side, making sure that you use the same color. It may seem obvious, but double check before you start painting so you don’t make a mistake. If you’re really artsy, you can also paint small designs on the keys.
Wait the keys to dry completely, and put them back on your key chain. I recommend waiting over night just in case, but it isn’t necessary. Now you won’t ever have trouble figuring out what key to use.
