If you’re a millennial, chances are, you watched “Kim Possible.” Yes, arguably the best Disney Channel animated series of all time. There is also a good chance you’re aware that the entertainment industry is all about nostalgia these days. And Disney knows this. So, when they announced earlier this year that they would be releasing a live action movie based on the series, I freaked out. A lot. A live action Kim Possible movie is all our dreams come true. Not even kidding.
A lot of people debated on and freaked out over who would take over as Kim and Ron, originally voiced by Christy Carlson Romano and Will Friedle, with some even questioning if they would somehow come back. Apparently, they were on board too.
In a clever way to stir excitement for the upcoming movie, Disney released a video featuring Romano and Friedle dressed up as their iconic characters from the show and jokingly auditioned for the film.
In the video, the casting directors actually announced who will take over for the two voice actors. And they couldn’t have made more accurate decisions!
Kim will be played by newcomer Sadie Stanley, who got this role in her FIRST-EVER AUDITION. So. Cool! Sean Giambrone, who is on ABC’s “The Goldbergs,” will play Ron. Talk about a power team.
To add to the excitement, the live-action film’s script will be written by the animated series’ creators Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley, who will also executive produce.
So, yeah. This will be a Disney Channel Original Movie we should ALL tune in to. Can 2019 come already?
