10 Disney Characters To Base Themed Outfits On

I love to find new ways to bring a little Disney magic into my everyday life. One of the best ways I’ve found is by using my favorite Disney characters as inspiration for my outfits. This is just a really fun way to have your favorite Disney characters with you all day.

1. Minnie Mouse

Arguably one of the most iconic Disney characters is Minnie Mouse herself. You can always find Minnie Mouse rocking her chic polka dot red dress and a big red bow. If you wanted to take this look literally you could wear her exact old school puffy dress with a big red bow. A more modern twist to Minnie Mouses’ outfit is getting a beautiful long button-up dress that’s red with white polka dots. Add accents by tying a red bandana into a bow around your head. You can also add some black accents to match Minnie’s fur like a black necklace or a black purse.

2. Cruella De Vil

Cruella is probably one of the most fabulous villains in Disney history. You just can’t go wrong with such a glamorous outfit like hers. To dress like Cruella De Vil start by finding a sleek red or black slip dress. This is going to give you that skinny silhouette that Cruella has. Get some killer stilettos because you know Cruella wouldn’t be caught dead in flats. Obviously, top off this Cruella look with a big puffy fur coat. You don’t have to kidnap 101 dalmations to find a beautiful faux fur coat that is going to help you pull off that Cruella aesthetic.

3. Cinderella

A personal favorite of mine, Cinderella is just the idol when you think of Disney princesses. She was a simple girl but she still fought for what she wanted while keeping to her kind demeanor. When I theme my outfit with Cinderella I like to go more towards her maid outfit. It fits into a more cottagecore aesthetic with a white bandana to wrap up your hair and a nice flowy white dress. It’s simple for an everyday look and you’ll without a doubt look just like Cinderella.

4. Ariel

Under the sea of upon the land, you know Ariel is everyone’s favorite mermaid. You can’t help but wonder who Ariel would be if she were to grow up on land. For an Ariel inspired Disney outfit I would wear a pretty blue sundress. One that is perfect for a stroll on the beach. Pair it with a cute wide-brimmed sun hat and some comfy sandals. This outfit is perfect for a beach day out, dipping your toes in the ocean, and taking some cute sand pics.

5. Peter Pan

Just like Peter Pan, there was a point where we didn’t want to grow up either. With a Peter Pan themed outfit, you’ll never have to grow old. To be like Peter Pan you would need a fun outfit that helps you move around for an adventurous day. For this look, I would go for a short green romper. This way you look super cute but still have ultimate mobility to go about your day. Pair this outfit with some black Converse or Vans. Some cute accessories you can use for this outfit is a basic green baseball cap and a backpack.

6. Alice

When I think of Alice my clear thought is to her trip to Wonderland. With Alice’s wild imagination she’s gotta have a wonderful fashion sense as well. When I imagine dressing up as Alice or in the theme of Alice I picture a long flowy blue dress. Just imagine running through a flower field in a beautiful blue dress as it blows behind you in the wind. You can pair this dress with basic white sandals or flats. A cute white crossbody would go well with this dress along with a black cardigan to wear over top.

7. Simba

Our favorite king of the Sahara Simba, I imagine, has some amazing fashion sense. I get a lot of inspiration from Simba because of warm-colored aesthetics. One great way to dress based on Simba is to get a tight-fitting velvet brown dress. You pair this kind of dress with some high-heeled black boots. Wear a faux fur brown vest to get that little lion mane to look just like Simba always hoped for.

8. Maleficent

Maleficent is one of the most beautiful and mysterious Disney villains ever made. She’s got such a classic and beautiful villain design that just can’t be beaten. A Maleficent inspired design would consist of an all-black look. Keeping the silhouette sleek and straight wear black dress pants with a green silk camisole top. Over that wear an oversized black blazer that drapes all the way to below your knees. Style this look with slicked-back hair and purple berets to clip your hair back. A black crossbody would be the perfect bag to go with this outfit along with some black strappy heels.

9. Belle

Belle is one of the princesses almost anyone would relate to. A bookworm outsider who never really seemed to find a place for her to fit in. Belle’s inspired outfit would be something comfortable for her to read her books in a cozy space. A long white sundress with some delicate flowers in the design. Perfect for a trip to the park to lay on some blankets and read your favorite books.

10. Rapunzel

Rapunzel is a princess that any little kid can look up to. She’s courageous, a go-getter, multi-talented, and an all-around good person. Just like Rapunzel’s carefree attitude and free spirit, her inspired clothing should match that theme. I picture Rapunzel’s inspired look to be a beautiful flowing dress just covered in flowers. You can pair this dress with brown platform heels and a weaved crossbody bag.
