Bananas are so good to eat. They are really sweet, which makes them the perfect fruit to put in every kind of dessert you can think of. The only bad thing about bananas is how quickly they go bad. They only last for three or four days when you buy them from the grocery store, and that’s if you buy them when they are still a little green. Here are some desserts you can make with rotting bananas. I hope you enjoy them.
Banana bread is always a favorite at my house. Banana bread is best with slightly browning bananas or frozen bananas.
Ingredients:
Crumb Filling and Topping:
Optional Glaze:
Steps:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray, set it aside.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In a large bowl, mash bananas until they become liquefied. Mix in butter until combined and then stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla until mixed well. Stir in milk and flour until combined.
3. Prepare crumb filling and topping by combining all the ingredients together, cutting them together with a fork or pastry cutter until a coarse crumb forms. Pour 1/2 of the batter into the prepared pan. Top with 1/3 of the crumb mixture. Cover the filling with the remaining batter and top with the remaining crumb mixture.
4. Bake for 50-55 minutes until the center is set and a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for ten minutes. If you want, mix the powdered sugar and milk together and drizzle on top. It can be served warm or at room temperature.
Banana pudding is almost like banana bread, but it has a filling to it. The filling is more bananas, in case you didn’t think there were enough bananas yet.
Ingredients:
Steps:
1. Separate the yolks from the whites of 3 of the eggs. Set aside the whites, and add the remaining whole eggs to the three yolks. In a saucepan, whisk together 1/2 cup of sugar, the flour, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Stir in the whole egg and 3 yolks, and then stir in the milk. Cook uncovered, stirring often, until the mixture thickens, about ten minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla.
2. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Spread a thin layer of the pudding in a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish. Arrange a layer of vanilla wafers on top of the pudding. Thinly slice the bananas crosswise, about 1/8 inch thick, and arrange a layer of banana slices over the wafers. Spread one-third of the remaining pudding over the bananas and continue layering wafers, bananas, and pudding, ending with pudding.
3. To make the meringue, beat the reserved egg whites with a pinch of salt until they are stiff. Gradually beat in the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar and continue beating until the whites will not slide out of the mixing bowl when it is tilted. Spread the meringue over the pudding with a spatula, making a few decorative peaks on the top, and bake until the meringue is slightly brown about 5 minutes.
Chocolate chips go really nice with everything, so combining bananas and chocolate chips is a really good idea for anyone who wants to try.

Blondies are sort of like brownies, so putting bananas in a brownie mix is a really good idea. The cinnamon also makes it taste even better.
Ingredients:
Frosting:
Steps:
1.Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line an 8×8 inch pan with aluminum foil, leaving an overhang on both sides, then spray with cooking spray, set aside.
2. For the batter, in a medium bowl mix together melted butter, sugar, and salt. Add egg, vanilla, and cinnamon, and mix until well combined. Then add mashed banana and mix until well combined. Next, add flour and mix until combined and smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smooth the top and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the center has set. Remove from the oven and allow to cool to room temperature.
3. To make the frosting, in a medium saucepan, melt the butter and continue cooking over medium heat until it reaches a nice amber color, stirring constantly, being careful not to burn it. Then add brown sugar, milk, and a dash of salt, stir and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and cool for 10-15 minutes. Whisk in vanilla and powdered sugar, and spread over the blondies. Allow frosting to set before slicing and serving.
Banana cobbler is like a cake but with way more bananas than a normal cobbler. Frozen bananas work really well, but browning bananas work better.
