The south shore of Long Island is flooded with amazing food from dozens of small businesses. I was lucky enough to have grown up in Blue Point, which is right in the middle of four small towns with incredible eateries. You do not want to go to the south shore without trying at least one, if not all, of these delicious places. Below are 10 delicious food places around Blue Point Long Island!
The Tap Room is a two story restaurant bar located on Main Street in Patchogue. Their selection of 27 draft beers go with any item on their varied menu. They have everything from bar appetizers to creative salads and hearty burgers, and of course their famous muscles. Public House 49 is another restaurant bar on Main Street in Patchogue with traditional American style eats. Their “Small Plates” menu has something for everyone along with their delicious salads, burgers, and sandwiches. Public House 49 is very roomy and also is very a popular nighttime spot with their large bar and good music on Friday and Saturday nights.
Furci’s Pizza is a very popular spot for the students of Bayport Blue Point High School since it is located just down the road and they offer student lunchtime specials. They have mastered the art of specialty pizza slices ranging from Brooklyn style to their Chicken Bacon Cheddar Ranch slice, and their most popular, the Chicken Stroganoff slice along with many other creations. These specialty slices and pies are loaded with toppings and never fail to satisfy. But they don’t just serve pizza, they serve all kinds of Italian cuisine from pastas to seafood and everything in between. The staff is incredibly kind and if you return more than once, I’m sure they’ll remember you.
This seafood establishment in Sayville is not like any seafood market due to their beautiful outdoor seating and incredible seafood dishes. Flo’s Luncheonette is a retro, window-service snack shack that is located just steps from Corey Beach and the Great South Bay since it opened in 1926. They serve amazing lunch and dinner items from sandwiches to fried seafood and they have great ice cream and milkshakes for dessert with outdoor picnic table seating. After a day on the Great South Bay stop by Flo’s for a quick but delicious bite and a beer.
Drift 82 is one of Patchogue’s newest and most scenic restaurants located at the mouth of the Patchogue River that opens up into The Great South Bay providing views of the Davis Park Ferries coming and going as you enjoy indoor or outdoor seating. This place has an even mix of seafood and land food as well as delicious cocktails and draft beers. Drift 82 is the perfect sunset dinner spot with delicious, large portions and an amazing location. Keep an eye on Drift 82’s cabana that is set to open this summer for quick bites and drinks before you head to Fire Island!
Village Idiot Pub is a sports bar restaurant on Main Street in Patchogue with excellent bar food and a wide variety of drink selections with dozens of TVs to watch your favorite team. JT’s Cafe is a very cute, family owned restaurant on Montauk Highway on the border of Bayport and Blue Point with a delicious menu for whatever meal you’re looking for from breakfast to late-night snacks and everything in between.
