12 Delicious Cakes You Can Bake Without An Oven

Sometimes all you want are cakes, but you don’t have access to an oven! Maybe it’s broken, or maybe you live somewhere that does not have an oven. We have you covered with twelve delicious cakes you can bake without an oven.

1. Steamed Marble Cake

Not many people realise you can actually make cakes using a steamer – but it is true! Fill a steamer with water as you usually would and bring it to boil. Put the simmer basket inside and leave the water to simmer whilst you make the batter. Mix butter and sugar together in a mixing bowl and beat them using an electric whisk before mixing in the eggs, flour, and milk. Beat the mixture until it is smooth then separate the batter by pouring one quarter into a separate bowl. This is your chocolate part of the cake! Add cocoa powder to the smaller mixture. Combine the two batters in a pan and cover it. Now steam the pan for 30-45 minutes. Remove the cake, check it is cooked through, and then enjoy!

2. Microwave Mug Cake

You can also bake cakes using a microwave! If you don’t have a cooker of any sort, chances are that you will definitely have a microwave – so try out making this delicious cake. Another fun thing about this bake is that it is made in a mug – so you don’t even need any fancy baking tins! Mix in your sugar, baking mix and milk in the mug and stir it with a fork. Add some chocolate chips. Microwave the mixture in the mug for at least one minute at full power. Check it is cooked through. Microwaves are all different and sometimes different ones need extra or less time. Take it out and enjoy! A yummy cake baked without an oven in only 60 seconds!

3. Chocolate Lava Cake

This is a deliciously chocolaty cake that you can make using a slow cooker! Mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a bowl until it is combined. Then add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla into the mixture. In a separate bowl, it is time to make the lava. Use brown sugar, cocoa powder and hot water to create the mixture. Stir until smooth. Pour the cake batter into the slow cooker first, followed by the lava mix. Do not stir them! Cover the slow cooker and leave it on a high heat setting for 2 and a half hours. Once it is cooked, leave the cake to stand for 30 – 40 minutes. Serve it up and dig in with a spoon to unleash the chocolate lava!

4. Cheesecake

Cheesecake is one of the simplest and most versatile no-bake cakes. You can make any cheesecake flavour you like without the need for an oven. First, you will need to crush some biscuits (digestives are the go-to for a cheesecake) and mix them with some butter. Press the mix into a tin and put it in the fridge to set. To make the cheesecake mix, combine cream cheese, lemon juice, and icing sugar and mix until smooth. Whip a bowl of double cream using a whisk until it turns to stiff peaks. Stir the two mixtures together and pour it onto the biscuit base. Leave in the fridge to chill and set for an hour.

First, you will need to whip your ice cream, but do not let it unfreeze! Spread it in a pan and layer crushed biscuits on top before soaking it all in fudge sauce. Freeze overnight.
