10 Decorations And Items To Make Your New Year’s Eve Aesthetic AF
New Year’s Eve is approaching and though most of us may have to spend it at home this year, there are so many decorations and items that make your home look super festive and aesthetic, no matter what festivities you and your loved ones have!
1. New Year’s Eve Banner
A good staple holiday decoration to have for any holiday is a themed banner. There are so many options for New Year’s Eve banners on the market, from Party City to Etsy, even Amazon. Whether you are looking for a super sparkly one, silver or gold, simple black and white, Great Gatsby themed which has been popular the last couple of years, there is something out there that will work perfectly for whatever your color scheme and decor theme is this year! The one pictured is from Amazon for less than $10.00 and is double tiered, so you can either layer the two like so, or use them in different areas of the party space. This one is super cute and is a bit different than others because the designer decided to use party decoration shapes such as champagne flutes, gifts, a champagne bottle, and party hats!
2. Photo Backdrop
Another fun idea is to set up a photo-taking area with a festive backdrop. This one is from Zazzle, but there are similar ones on several sites! A themed backdrop makes photos look so much more professional and definitely adds a little something extra for the eye to be drawn to. A good backdrop makes it clear what event you are at for when you look back at photos and just makes the overall experience feel more elevated and interactive! I have done several photo backdrops for sorority events in college and they always are a hit with guests.
3. Disco Ball Punch Bowl
This next item is a bit more specific taste-wise, but is just so fun for a New Year’s Eve event! A punch bowl is always a nice thing to have for a party so the guests can serve themselves drinks throughout the night and alleviates some of that stress off of the party’s host, but this item is the most gorgeous punch bowl I’ve ever laid eyes on! It is so well made and honestly, would look stunning at so many different themed parties. This disco ball punch bowl is from Etsy, and is a bit of an investment, but is so worth it if you have friends over a lot for events!
4. Champagne Flutes
The next items are New Year’s Eve must-haves, champagne flutes! Popping champagne at midnight on New Year’s is always one of the most exciting and fun moments of the evening, and of course, you need classy drink receptacles to enjoy your drink in. These are sold all year round at so many stores and are such a good investment, not just for New Year’s, but also for any celebratory event that you may have in the future.
5. Polaroid Camera and Film
Taking photos to document moments of celebration with your loved ones is so fun and the memories that those photos become are truly priceless. Instead of just taking photos with your iPhone, have a polaroid camera on hand at the party with lots of film for it and let the guests take photos during the night. This is a great way to get candid photos and just adds a bit of preciousness to the photos since they are one of a kind every single time!
6. Party Hats
Party hats are a classic for New Year’s Eve especially. They look so cute and make whatever you are attending just feel more special and fun! The ones featured below are sold on Etsy and are a bit different than the usual party hats because they are Minnie and Mickey Mouse inspired as well as New Year’s Eve themed. The red glitter is so reminiscent of Minnie and Mickey’s classic outfits designed by Walt Disney and would look so cute for a New Year’s photo with friends and family!
7. Glitzy Bar Cart
This next decor piece is super functional but also gives any party an elevated sense of glamour, a bar cart decked out with New Year’s Eve decorations! Now, this is definitely not a necessary party purchase, as can get quite expensive when you add up the bar cart itself, the alcohol, glasses, etc. However, they look so stunning, not only during New Year’s Eve, and would be a fun and functional piece to have in your home for entertaining others or just making yourself a nice cocktail after a long workday!
8. Big Balloons
Balloons go hand in hand with any celebratory event. Instead of going for a simple balloon arrangement this year, try something a little more glitzy and fun, like this huge champagne balloon arrangement with bubbles that cascade beautifully down the wall and onto the floor. You can purchase this particular one on Amazon for a reasonable price and it makes such a statement! This would also make a wonderful photo backdrop if you did not want to purchase a separate one.
9. Sound Activated Party Lights
If you are like me and my loved ones, we all love to have dance parties when we get together. Looking to spice it up a bit? This sound-activated party light is remote controlled and flashes along with your favorite music! This would totally make your dance party more fun and would feel like you are dancing in a club rather than in your living room!
10. Confetti Poppers
Lastly, we have another old fashioned classic, confetti poppers. These are so much fun to pop when the clock strikes midnight and a fresh, brand new year begins! Seeing the confetti pop up and fall to the floor always fills me with joy and hope for great things to come in the new year, plus they are so affordable and leave the floor looking so festive! These particular ones in the photo are from Etsy, but you can find these little guys a lot of places, such as Party City and Target.
