10 Date Ideas To Do By Yourself

Date nights are fun because you get to go out, dress up, and have a great time. However, if you’re single, you might think that you can’t enjoy the excitement of going out on a date. Or if your partner isn’t interested in going to the places you want to go, you might think you’re losing out on a fun date night. We’re here to tell you that you can still have a great time by yourself! There’s plenty that you can do on a solo date. Here are a few ideas to think about.

1. Treat yourself to a spa day

Everyone deserves a day for some R&R, so treat yourself to a relaxing day at the spa for a solo date. Going to the spa is already a reward in itself, but going by yourself also has its major benefits. You’re free to do whatever you want, whenever you want, you can completely unplug, and you’re practicing self-care. Solo spa days are arguably one of the most relaxing ways to spend some alone time.

2. Go to a nice restaurant

Who says you can’t out to eat at a fancy restaurant by yourself? If you can get past that stigma of people eating alone at a restaurant, you’ll learn that it can be very beneficial for you. Not being surrounded by your friends’ distraction will allow you to savor your food and be more aware of your surroundings. There’s absolutely nothing to be ashamed of if you want to go on a dinner date by yourself. Enjoy your own company, and never mind what other people might think. You might even make some new friends!

3. Do a solo stay at a hotel

You can also enjoy a weekend away at a fancy hotel by yourself. It’s the perfect way for you to get away and experience something new. You should also take advantage of all the amenities the hotel offers, like the pool, the spa, or the gym. Staying at a hotel by yourself can also allow you to try things that you might not be able to do if you were there with someone else. You’re even free to read or take on any creative project without any distractions. That sounds like the perfect date for yourself.

4. Go on a shopping spree

You know how the person you go shopping with ultimately becomes impatient and irritable if you take too long in one store? You won’t have to worry about that if you go on a shopping spree by yourself! You’re free to spend as long as you’d like in one store and try on every outfit you like in peace. Shopping alone is also another fun way to treat yourself to some things you need or really want.

5. Have a lazy night in

You don’t have to go out to have a great solo date. There’s nothing wrong with staying in and binging your favorite TV shows or movies on Netflix. The beauty of having a lazy solo night in is that you’re free to do whatever you want with no judgement. You want to spend the day with no pants on? Go for it! You want to drink wine straight from the bottle? Go for it! Do you want to have a Disney marathon and loudly sing along to the songs? GO. FOR IT. We all need a lazy night in by ourselves at one point, and that would make the perfect date for yourself.

6. Go for a walk in nature

There’s something about being out in nature that’s freeing. If you’re looking for the perfect date idea to do by yourself that’s beneficial to both your mind and body, go for a walk in the great outdoors. Not only is it a great way to get your body moving, but also being in nature can make you feel happier and reduce anxiety and depression. Not to mention that enjoying the fresh air is 100% FREE, so you won’t have to worry about spending a dime if you want to try this solo date idea.

7. Take a solo trip

Solo traveling has become more and more popular over the years. You can learn so many things from taking a trip by yourself, and it’s a great solo date idea for those who crave adventure. For starters, taking a solo trip can teach you how to be more independent. You also won’t have to worry about accommodating someone else’s schedule if you travel by yourself. It’s a freeing experience, and you’re guaranteed to make some of the best memories on your solo travel date. You’ll also learn a lot about yourself!

8. Book a spin class

We all want a fun way to be healthy, and cycling does just that! Taking a spin class is the perfect solo date idea for health nuts. There are numerous benefits to taking a spin class. You’ll be surrounded by a supportive group of people, it’s a great, low impact total body workout, it’s a unique experience, and anyone can do it. It might seem a bit intimidating at first, especially if it’s your first time going to a spin class and you’re there by yourself. However, once the class begins and the music starts pumping, you’ll end up having the time of your life.

9. Go to the beach at sunset or sunrise

If you’ve never watched the sunset or sunrise at the beach by yourself, you’re missing out on an unforgettable experience. First of all, you won’t be able to get over that view. It’s absolutely breathtaking watching the sun rising or setting at the beach. Going there by yourself will give you a different kind of feeling, which is why it’ll be a wonderful solo date idea. Whether you want to watch the sunrise or the sunset is entirely up to you and how willing you are to wake up early or stay out late. Both can give off their own unique experiences.

10. Buy yourself some flowers

You don’t need a date to get you some flowers! This is a wonderful solo date idea because gifting ourselves is beneficial for our health. You are an awesome human being, and you deserve a few dollars’ worth of happiness. Instead of waiting for someone to give you some flowers for being stunning, you can just get them yourself. That way, you’ll be able to pick out exactly what you want. You’ll also have something gorgeous to look at for a while. Getting yourself flowers is the ultimate way to show some self-love.
