8 Cute Ways To Accessorize Your Hair

Getting creative with your hair can be fun, especially when you add accessories into the mix. Whether you have curly hair, wavy hair, or straight hair, there’s something you can accessorize it with to change it up. You don’t have to buy diamond headbands or expensive clips, you can keep it simple while still managing to keep it cute and affordable. Find out ways to accessorize your hair this summer with these helpful tips below.

1. Decorated Bobby Pins

Give your hair a little extra something with some decorated bobby pins! We all know there’s plenty of hairstyles out there that require having a ton in your hair at once, but you can spice it up and change from using regular bobby pins to those with accents. Some accents could include tiny pearls, sparkles, a pop of color. If you want, you could even decorate the bobby pins you already have!

2. Ponytail Holder With Scarf

Make your bun or ponytail just a little more exciting with a ponytail holder that has a scarf attached to it. This can be done by buying one from a local beauty supply store or making your own at home. You can match the scarf with your outfit or make it stand out more by experimenting with different colors and patterns.

3. Colorful Hair Clips

One of my favorite things to do when I’m wearing my hair out is to accessorize it with clips. I prefer using colorful clips but you can use whatever style you’d like. You can also buy clips from pretty much anywhere! I purchased my pack at Urban Outfitters for $6.

4. Scrunchies

Scrunchies are totally in right now. You can buy a set of them for cheap if you look in the right places. I love getting mine from Sally’s because they’re super affordable. They make great hair accessories because they have the ability to make any up-do hairstyle look cute! If you buy a set of them, there’s a good chance they’ll be a variety of colors. In that case, you can wear a new one every day if you really wanted to. There are also different kinds of scrunchies you can purchase. Faux fur scrunchies, satin scrunchies, silk scrunchies, cotton scrunchies, etc.

5. Headbands

Headbands are a classic hair accessory. I love them because you can change the way in which you wear them. You can use them to get your hair out of your face or tie them in a way that you normally wouldn’t. Regardless, they are a great way to not only accessorize your hair but your outfit as well.

6. Hair Cuffs

Cuff jewelry has been getting a lot of recognition as of late. You can wear cuffs on your bracelets, ears, and especially your hair. If you have braids or twists, you can accessorize your hair by covering a small section with gold or silver cuffs to accent the hairstyle you’re wearing.

7. Hair Rings

Leave it up to these little accessories to make your hair stand out from the rest. You’d be surprised what hair rings can add to just a ponytail or half-up-half-down look. You can also buy hair rings in different shapes and patterns. If I were going to wear some, I would probably look at getting heart shaped hair rings or stars!

8. Tiny Jewels

Small hair jewels are great if you’re looking for something simple yet cute to accessorize your hair. If you’re wearing a sleek low bun, you can stick them either in the front or on top of the bun. If you’re wearing a ponytail, you can use the jewels to accentuate the hair falling down your back. Either way, you’re going to get a bunch of compliments on how cute they look!
