8 Cute Snacks You Need To Make For Your Fourth Of July Party

What fun is a party without some yummy snacks? Better yet- what fun is the Fourth of July without red, white and blue?

Answer: no fun at all.

Spice of your Independence Day with these festive, cute snacks!

1. Patriotic Pretzels

Who can say no to a chocolate covered pretzel?

To make this festive treat, you will need pretzel rods and colored candy (chocolate) melts. You can get these from Wal-Mart of Michaels. They come in practically every color, but obviously red, white, and blue will best suit the occasion.

Set out a cooling rack, with a sheet of parchment paper underneath. This will make for easy clean-up later on.

Melt your white chocolate, and dip about the pretzels about 2/3 of the way into the chocolate. Lay them on the rack to dry.

Melt the blue candies. You can drizzle, dip, coat… d0 whatever you want to get the chocolate onto the pretzel. You have the creative freedom! If you want to add a bit of detail, add sprinkles to the candy while it is still wet.

To add the final touch, melt your red chocolate. At this point, drizzling would be the easiest way to decorate your pretzels, as dipping with two other colors already laid down would be close to impossible.

This would be a great treat to make with friends, children, or family. They are a fun craft and customizable. Coat them however you want, in whatever detail. You can’t go wrong!

2. Festive Rice Krispie Treats

This is another super easy treat that is sure to make everyone happy.

Of course you could be fancy and make your own rice krispie treats, but it is much easier (if you are lazy like me) to just use the pre-made kind.

Just like the previous pretzel treat, you will need colored candies.

All you have to do is unwrap the treats and dip the top half of them into the melted chocolate color of your choice. You can add sprinkles, drizzles of other colors, or just keep it plain.

Once you have finished coating with the melted candies, insert paper straws into the bottom of the cereal snack. That way, your hands won’t get sticky while you enjoy this cute snack!

3. Fruit Skewers

This is another easy-peasy snack that is perfect for the holiday.

All you need is blueberries, bananas, strawberries, and skewers.

Cut up your bananas and strawberries. You can leave the blueberries as it. All you need to do is pierce the fruit onto the skewer, and just like that have the cutest snack! Bonus points for it being healthy.

4. Firecracker Marshmallows

This delicious snack is sure to set off sparks.

All you will need are marshmallows, blue chocolate melts, and cherries that still have stems.

Melt your chocolate and dip the tops of the marshmallows in. While the candy is still wet, set a cherry on top. Let them dry.

5. Patriotic Parfait

This is a cute, delectable snack that doesn’t require an oven or too much prep!

In a bowl, whip together 3/4 of a cup of cool whip, 1 cup powdered sugar and 8 oz of softened cream cheese.

6. Firecracker Dogs

This is a savory treat that is sure to intrigue both the kids and the adults.

You will need:

  • 1 can refrigerated breadstick dough
  • 2 packages -16 hot dogs
  • 16 thick slices colby cheese
  • 16 skewers

Pierce about 2/3 of each hot dog with the skewers. Wrap each with the breadstick dough until you reach the top. Place in the oven according to the directions for the breadstick dough.

While the hot dogs bake, take out your slices of colby cheese. Using a star-shaped cookie cuter, begin to cut stars out of the cheese slices. Set aside for later.

Once your hot dogs are baked and cooled, slide the cheese onto the top of the skewer- almost like a Christmas tree star.

These are the cutest snacks ever and definitely fit the theme of Independence Day.
