10 Cute Date Ideas Around App State

1. Hike and have a picnic at Blue Ridge Parkway.

There are numerous hiking trails and scenic view that make the Blue Ridge Parkway an ideal date spot. Pack a picnic, throw on some hiking shoes and explore nature with your person.

Boone is not short of coffee shops. You can take your pick of the coffee shops on campus or around town- but nothing says ‘I love you’ like a cup of coffee (or at least for me anyway).

 

3. Study together at the library.

So let’s be real, at some point you have to write that paper you keep putting off. Why not take your date to the library and spend some quality paper writing time together?

4. Explore Blowing Rock!

The short drive to Blowing Rock can provide a quality date night setting. Go window shopping, sit in the park, eat at Town Tavern, and don’t forget to stop at Kilwins before you go back to the dreaded dorm.

5. Go on every ride at Tweetsie Railroad.

Also in Blowing Rock is Tweetsie Railroad, a Western themed amusement park. This has to be the best of all the cute date ideas around App State! A ticket to Tweetsie can get you a ride on the train, traditional amusement park rides, access to the shops and a memory to outlast that relationship. In fact, I went on my very first date here in preschool- memories.

6. Cheer on the Mountaineers at a football game!

App State games are ALWAYS exciting, win or lose. Take a date and double the excitement.

 

7. Late night cookie runs.

…or Late Night Cookie Delivery. Appalachia Cookie Co. is great for after those Netflix and Chill sessions- they deliver until 3 AM.

8. Shop at Mast General Store during a stroll down Kings Street.

On a sunny day, take a stroll down King Street and window shop. Eat at a local restaurant, shop at Mast General Store, and people watch; simple dates can be fun.

9. Get matching tattoos at Speakeasy!

If you are a couple who like to do spur of the moment things, go get matching tattoos at Speakeasy Tattoo on King Street. It’s a bonding experience that will last a lifetime!

10. A simple but chill, dorm room date.

You lose a lot of sleep in college between studying, working, and extracurricular activities. Why not spend your date night sleeping? Order a pizza, watch a movie and at the end of the night, you get to cuddle up to your significant other and go to sleep knowing that everything is just fine.
