Spooky season has arrived. It is that special time of year when we get to dress up as someone else and leave our worries of the real world behind. Sharing Halloween with your special someone can make the season even more fun. If you are stumped on what you and your boo should dress as, here are some ideas.
“We were on a break!” The show “Friends” is a part of iconic American TV culture. There has been a recent craze about the 90’s sitcom. Maybe it is nostalgia, or the completely relatable factor. Whatever the case may be, Ross and Rachel make a cute couple. Rachel is known for her simple yet unique style, while also being a mediocre coffee house waitress. While Ross is known for being a bit nerdy and uptight. Together though, they are completely adorable and an easy last minute costume to put together.
If you and your honey are looking for something a little more dangerous and sexy, Mr. and Mrs. Smith might be the perfect fit. Everyone knows Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were one of the sexiest couples alive. Their roles as “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” is all about mixing danger with romance. Mr. will need black tux with a white button up, and of course a gun. Mrs. will need a long black dress with spaghetti straps and slit up the leg. She will also need a leg holster to hold her weapon. Together, you’ll be the hottest look of the night.
Here is another couple from a greatly popular TV series. They may not be dangerous like Mr. and Mrs. Smith, but they are romantic. Jim and Pam’s love story is envied by many because of the incredible chemistry they share. They start off with a “will they, won’t they” type of relationship, due to Pam being engaged. Jim admits his love for her, and she calls off her wedding. It does take a few seasons for them to finally be official, but the results are so worth the wait. Since they work at a paper company, their style is basic. Jim will need a white long sleeve button up, a simple tie, khaki pants with a brown or black belt and dress shoes that are not too fancy. Pam will need a simple button up, a cardigan, a modest skirt and white shoes.
This costume may not be a reference to a TV show, but it’s just cute. If you and your boo enjoy space themed costumes, this one should be fun. One will need an astronaut costume, which can be found at almost any Halloween or party store. If you want to go the extra mile, and really impressive your friends, wear a helmet too. The other, can have more fun with how they want to interpret their alien. Many choose to go with the silver, sparkly type. Finding antennas should be easy at a Halloween store. As for the rest of the costume, pieces can be found online or at a store. There is a lot more freedom being the alien. The more creative partner might want to pick the alien.
Name a more iconic duo, I’ll wait. Being a “greaser” or a “pink lady” are not new Halloween costume ideas, but it is one of the most timeless ideas. “Grease” is a movie set in the 50’s about a group of high school kids who like to sing, dance and race cars. Danny is the leader of the bad boys. Sandy is the new girl at school that is having a hard time making friends. The costume is simple, yet bold. Danny will need an all black or white t-shirt, black pants, black belt, the classic black and white converse and of course the “greaser” hair-style. A leather jacket is optional, but will give you the edge. If you want to be Sandy after her makeover, you will need black high-waisted tights, a black off-the-shoulder top, red heels and blonde teased curls. Do not forget the red lips as well. If innocent Sandy is more your style, you will need a long skirt, a modest top with a collar and oxfords.
Scooby-Doo is a cartoon that has been part of many generations’ childhood. Everyone knows Shaggy, Velma, Daphne, Fred and Scooby-Doo. They are great for group Halloween costumes. Fred and Daphne are a classic and underrated couple. Fred will need his iconic orange ascot, blue collared shirt, white sweater, blue jeans and brown shoes. Daphne is famous for her purple dress. She will also need her green ascot, purple headband and heels. Hit the nostalgic note for everyone and go as this groovy couple.
Go for a fun note from our childhood and go as Cosmo and Wanda from the cartoon show, “The Fairly Oddparents.” Cosmo and Wanda are sent to help Timmy Turner, who is a bit of an outcast. They grant his wishes to help him deal with his mean baby-sitter, and oblivious parents. Wanda will need pink hair, a yellow top, black pants, a small crown, wings and of course a fair wand. Cosmo will need green hair, a white long sleeve collared shirt, a black tie, a small crown, wings and his magic fairy wand.
There are many versions of these characters, because of all the shenanigans they get themselves into. However, there is always the basic idea that everyone will recognize. This Halloween costume is perfect for a couple that is also best friends. Spongebob is yellow, and wears brown shorts with a white shirt and red tie. He also wears white tube socks and black shoes. Patrick is pink and only wears green shorts with purple flower-like shapes.
If you are looking for something more scary and spooky, there are plenty of killer duos, such as one of our personal, spooky favorites Chucky and his bride. Chucky wears blue jean overalls and a long sleeve colorful striped shirt. He has messy red hair, scars on his face and carries a large knife. His bride wears a white dress, of course. It is short and slightly resembles a wedding dress. She also wears a black leather jacket.
Keeping it creepy, Morticia and Gomez are the head of the spookiest household. Morticia wears a long fitted black dress, with a deep V. She has long black hair, dark eye makeup, and high cheekbones. Her counterpart, Gomez, wears a black and white pinstripe suit. For a creepy, sexy vibe, chose this classic couple’s costume.
