Crystals and What They Can Do For You

Some of you might stare at the title of this article and assume that crystals are just rocks and move on with your life. Others might pause and wonder what crystals can do for you. Many alternative healers believe in the power of crystals. They believe the vibrational energy produced by crystals has a significant impact on the energy that is produced by people. When a crystal is touched, the crystal’s energy impacts our own energy while redirecting the energy that exists within us. The same concept is believed by many healers such as acupuncturists or energy workers. Crystals are often associated with chakras aiding individuals in clearing their energy. More often than not, crystals are used to protect and heal individuals. I don’t know about you, but I don’t know a single person who couldn’t use some form of healing, so don’t knock it before you try it. Here are some of the most exciting crystals and their effects on those around them. If you feel drawn to one, it might be time to check it out in person.

Selenite

Selenite is a mighty crystal and a great place to start your crystal journey. It consists of calcium sulfate minerals and is named after the moon. Selenite is considered to rejuvenate divine femininity. It clears out negative energies or weighted energies. It is known to help those with anxiety and depression or those who have experienced immense trauma. This crystal is unique as it can recharge itself, unlike other crystals. Essentially this stone is self-cleaning. Placing this crystal around your common space is a great way to experience the influence of its energy. Wearing Selenite is another excellent way to find benefits from the crystal. Either way, this is an excellent addition for a new crystal lover or one with an extensive preexisting collection.

Golden Healer Quartz

A stronger crystal than Selenite, golden healer quartz does exactly what the name suggests; it heals. This crystal is visually beautiful while providing the individual holding it a powerful healing experience. Made up of Hematoid Quarts, golden healer quartz aligns the body and mind while connecting the individual to a higher power and a release of unhealthy habits. Those around energy frequently, such as therapists, should seek this crystal out for protection. If you are sensitive to other energies, this is an excellent choice.

Tri-Colored Calcite

Tri-Colored Calcite is many calcites that form together. Specifying the metaphysical characteristics of Calcite vary as each form of Calcite is unique. Some of the most common calcites found in tri-colored Calcite are green Calcite which increases success and manifestation, orange calcite which aids in balancing emotions, and finally, white Calcite, which is associated with healing. When these common calcites are naturally linked together, it creates a powerful stone unique by each growth pattern.

Black Tourmaline

This crystal is a beautiful black crystal and an incredibly protective stone. Very often, crystals with black in them tend to be highly protective of their own energy as well as the energy of those around them. It encourages the users to act as opposed to think, making it an excellent stone for those who don’t act on the things they need to in their lives. For instance, this is the crystal to keep in your pocket if you fear success. Another great pairing is an induvial that carries a significant amount of anxiety. This crystal’s vibrational energies, if worn daily, will aid the user in releasing some of those anxious thoughts.

Carnelian

Carnelian is a vibrant red/orange crystal associated with the root, solar plexus, and sacral chakras. These chakras are associated with grounding, which reflects the confidence and boldness often seen with the wearer. Carnelian, like many others, aid in healing but instead of ridding negative energy itself, it activates the body’s own healing abilities. This crystal is a powerful addition to any crystal collection.

Identifying Energies

There are so many crystals that can bring powerful and positive energies into a person’s life. A crystal isn’t going to help you unless you know how to use it, right? First and foremost, find the qualities you enjoy about your favorite crystals. Do they make you calm or fill you with energy? Do you feel safe when you have them in your presence, or do they motivate you to get outside of your comfort zone? Identify the feelings you enjoy and work towards creating that in your life more often. For instance, have a small collection of your favorite crystals placed over parts of your body while meditating. This can clear the chakras of negative energy while also making you feel very calm or rejuvenated. Perhaps you don’t enjoy sitting still while meditating, and a crystal singing bowl will help clear your energy while occupying your mind on a simple hand rotation creating cleansing sounds. Try out many different forms of meditation or activities with crystals to enlighten your mind and clear your body of negative energy. Even having crystals in your presence can bring positive side effects.

Crystal Maintenance

Cleaning your crystals is also an important step to becoming a crystal expert. There are many ways to do this, but some of the most effective is putting the crystals that have had a lot of use out in the moonlight. Letting the crystals bathe in the moonlight will refresh the crystals’ energy and cleanse them of any negative energies it has collected. Running water is also an effective way to clear crystals. While water from a sink is fine, finding a clear stream or river is more powerful. Finally, sage is a highly effective form of clearing crystals and the space they occupy. Sages can be scented or bound with crystals helping this process along. Find a method of cleaning crystals that you enjoy and clean your crystals after about 5 or so uses. Those who are more sensitive to energy should cleanse their crystals after every use, especially if the energy does not originate from their own bodies.
