All species should be protected and cared for with compassion. To help do your part, we recommend looking into cruelty-free makeup brands as an alternative. While you shop for summer essentials, birthday presents or even back to school essentials, please be mindful of the cosmetics and beauty brands you purchase. After all, just because we can’t understand animal language does not mean they don’t have a right to feel safe in this world too.
One of the cheaper cruelty-free makeup brands on the market is Wet ‘N’ Wild. Not only are all of their products cruelty-free, but they also do not sell their merchandise in markets that do. To be specific, some markets in Asia require animal testing in order for brands to sell their products. However, Wet ‘N’ Wild would rather lose profit from not selling in that region, than hurt innocent animals in testing. For their heroism, PETA has certified them as Cruelty-Free through PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies program.
Milani Cosmetics is a great cruelty-free makeup brand to use because they ensure every step of the process is cruelty-free. The professionals behind the brand make sure that their manufacturers do not test on animals, or that any partners they work with do not test on animals on their behalf. At the same time, Milani Cosmetics ensures that the raw materials used in their products come from ethical sources and were not tested on animals as well. They ensure their raw materials are ethical by requiring their manufacturers to be cruelty-free. Milani Cosmetics is a great brand to purchase because not only are they ensuring their brand is not testing on animals, but they are ensuring everyone they work with are cruelty free as well.
Another cruelty-free makeup brand is Kat Von D Beauty. Similar to Wet ‘N’ Wild, they were certified by PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies program to be a cruelty-free brand. The company ensures that all of the processes to make each makeup product is cruelty free by their company. They also ask the help of third party companies to ensure their products are not used to harm animals in any way. Since the products are cruelty-free and Kat Von D Beauty is against the very thought of animal testing, none of the brand’s merchandise is sold in mainland China.
Although Tarte Cosmetics is owned by a company called Kose that is not cruelty-free, Tarte ensures that it maintains a cruelty-free makeup brand image. This is done by ensuring all of its products and raw materials are ethically sources and cruelty-free. Like the other makeup brands here, Tarte Cosmetics is also certified by PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies program, and Logical Harmony. At the same time, Tarte Cosmetics is also 100% vegan. This ensures that no animals ,or any species were harmed in any of the processes to manufacture these products.
Too Faced is another cruelty-free makeup brand that ensures none of its products are tested on animals. PETA certifies them as Cruelty-Free which shows as a little bunny ears logo on the packaging of products. Whenever customers purchase products, they can see if it is cruelty free by checking for the little bunny ears logo. If it doesn’t have the logo, then the products will say cruelty-free. Like many of its competitors, Too Faced wishes to begin a new makeup industry that protects animals from product testing by ensuring all ingredients are ethically sourced and cruelty free.
