Creative Ways To Earn Money In Your Spare Time

Looking for some creative ways to earn money in your spare time? We’ve come up with some ideas to help you out.

Earning money doesn’t have to mean getting a part-time job. Perhaps you’re in college and you’re short of time or you need money quickly for a trip, whatever the reason, there are loads of ways to make a little bit of extra money, many of which you can even do from home.

From filling out online surveys to doing odd jobs, here are our top picks.

1. Earn cash with online surveys

There are loads and loads of survey sites out there that are willing to pay you money in order to find out your opinions. Companies use surveys in order to gain insight and understanding into their customers and all they take is an hour or so of your time, in reward for money.

2. Sell your clothes on Depop

We’ve all got clothes in our closet that we don’t wear anymore so why not sell them and make some money from it? Depop is a site that lets you sell and buy used clothes and it’s a really easy way to get some cash. For a creative way to earn money, head to your local thrift store and pick up some items. Then all you need to do is jazz them up, take some good photos and sell them for more than you paid.

3. Research groups

Paid research groups are a little harder to come across than online surveys, however, they generally offer much larger payments in exchange for your time. To get started, simply sign up for a research group agency as a participant. Then you’ll get an email anytime a research group opportunity comes up which could involve anything from product testing to participating in a discussion group.

4. Do odd jobs on Fiverr

Do you have a particular skill that could be beneficial to others? Well, Fiverr is a site that matches skilled individuals with those looking for help and it’s another one of our favourite creative ways to earn money. This site is particularly great for anyone with IT skills, and once you’ve done a few jobs and have a good stream of positive reviews, making money on Fiverr is a piece of cake.

5. Open an Etsy shop

If you’re a creative soul, then you could put your talent to good use and actually make money from it. Opening an Etsy shop is one of the most creative ways to earn money and it can actually be really profitable. Whether you’re into painting, clothes making or needlework, with your own Etsy store, you are in control of the products that you sell, when you sell them and how much for.

Good at school? Then why not consider tutoring to earn a bit of money. You could do this by posting an ad online or even asking around at your neighbours to see if anyone has any children in need of some tutoring. Not only is this a really fun and rewarding way to get some extra money, but it also looks great on your resume too.

6. Sell your photos

Have people told you they love your Instagram photos? Well, you could utilise your photography skills and actually make money through your photos. There are lots of sites out there that will pay you money for the rights to your photos. Popular sites include 500px Prime, iStockPhoto and ETSY so all you need to do is sign up.

7. Become a student ambassador

If you’re at college and are looking for some creative ways to earn money then why not try applying to be a student ambassador? Student ambassadors help to organise events and offer advice to other students at college. This is a great way to earn money because it’s flexible, looks good on your resume and it’s generally pretty well paid.

So there’s no need to get a Saturday job, just be sure to try one of these creative ways to earn money next time you’re in need of some cash.
