10 Creative Charcuterie Board Ideas

Charcuterie boards can easily become the center of attention at any get together. A stunning, delicious board of tasty snacks and food? That would attract anyone’s eyes (and tastebuds too). Besides your typical cheese and deli meats board, we’ve collected a few charcuterie boards that are sure to blow your mind. From chocolate fondue to chips and dip, you can make a board for every occasion! Check out these 10 amazing charcuterie boards you’ll want to make ASAP.

S’mores Board

This S’mores charcuterie board is perfect for a summer campout. There’s nothing better than sitting around a fire roasting marshmallows with your BFFs, but now you can do it in style! A charcuterie board has never been this easy. All you need is a bag of marshmallows, a box of graham crackers (honey is a great flavor), and a few bars of Hershey’s chocolate. Break up the crackers and the chocolate into S’mores-sized pieces, and arrange them on the board in groups of each ingredient. For an extra taste, add chocolate chip cookies or Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups for a tasty twist on your favorite S’ mores. Don’t forget to keep skewers nearby for roasting your marshmallows!

Fresh Fruit Board

What’s more refreshing than fruit on a hot summer day? The answer is easy– nothing! These boards will keep you on your diet plan and fill your stomach with delicious fresh fruits. To create this charcuterie board, buy a variety of fresh fruit from your local grocery store. Pineapple, watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, mango, strawberries, clementines and raspberries are all great choices for this board. Make sure to buy them as the whole fruit, NOT pre-cut or packaged! Cutting the fruit yourself, rather than putting out pre-packaged fruit, will take your board to the next level.

Pancake Board

Oh yes, a breakfast board. Imagine this, you wake up on Saturday morning to a delicious pancake charcuterie board sitting on your kitchen counter. Or even better, make this for your family for when they wake up! You can start by making your pancakes using a boxed mix, or you can take the easy way and buy a box of frozen pancakes to quickly heat up. Put out some fresh fruit such as strawberries, blueberries, or banana, and bowls of maple syrup, Nutella, or peanut butter for topping your pancakes with. For a side dish, you can cook up some bacon, breakfast sausage, or scrambled eggs to serve with your fluffy pancakes.

Holiday Cheeseboard

Holiday cheeseboards are what we call the classic charcuterie board. Before these boards became a trend, they were served as an appetizer at every Thanksgiving and Christmas celebration my household has ever hosted. These boards make it almost impossible to keep yourself from sitting down and stuffing your face till it’s gone. A holiday cheeseboard should be filled with crackers, grapes, olives, nuts, a variety of both hard and soft cheeses, and deli meats such as salami, prosciutto, or bresaola. This is the ultimate appetizer and will attract all of your guests at your next holiday get together. Make sure you have extra ingredients for when you need to refill the board and trust me, that will happen more than once!

French Fry Board

I bet you’ve never seen a charcuterie board like this before. All I can say is that whoever created this board is a genius. Who doesn’t love french fries, especially when you have every dip you could ever want right in front of you? For this french fry board, you’ll need a large variety of fries. From sweet potato fries to crinkle-cut fries, waffle fries, smiley fries, potato wedges and any other kind of fry you prefer. You can buy these frozen and heat them, make them homemade with your potatoes (this tastes best), or cheat a little and order fries from your local restaurant. We won’t tell anyone, don’t worry. For dips, you’ll want a few small bowls in the middle of the board for easy dipping-access. Fill these dishes with ketchup, honey mustard, BBQ sauce, sweet and sour sauce, ranch– whatever satisfies your cravings.

Festive Board

A festive charcuterie board is a perfect addition to any holiday party. No matter what holiday it is, you can create your board accordingly! For Halloween, fill up your board with candy corn, chocolate covered pretzels, pumpkin-shaped gummies, ghost and jack-o-lantern cookies, anything you can think of that relates to the holiday. On Valentine’s Day, fill it with pink and red M&M’s, candy hearts, heart-shaped cookies, licorice, the ideas are endless. For Christmas, you already know you’re fitting as many gingerbread cookies and candy cane Oreos on the board as possible. You’ll want to start creating a festive board for any occasion possible. Does Flag Day count?

Sandwich Board

This is the perfect idea for any picnics, backyard parties, or simply a day spent with friends and family. Sandwich charcuterie boards are useful in that everyone can make their sandwich just how they like, without all the hassle of “I want this” and “I want that” but “none of that.” Pick a variety of rolls, buns, or slices of bread, multiple options of deli meats and cheeses, and produce such as lettuce, onions, tomatoes, avocados, etc. You’ll want to leave out little dishes of mayonnaise, mustard, or ranch so everyone can top off their sandwich with their favorite condiments. If you want to create a side for the sandwiches, you can leave out pickles, chips, or fresh fruit!
