10 Couples Costumes You Gotta Try This Halloween

There are some pretty iconic couples costumes out there. From Ross and Rachel to Jim and Pam, the best couples from TV or film usually mean a killer couples costume. Whether it’s your first Halloween as a couple or your tenth, you want to look your best for any potential Halloween parties you may be attending. All of the couples costumes in this article are fairly easy to execute, whether it requires a trip to a thrift store or the rewatching of your favorite movie or show.

Steve and Robin from Stranger Things

This couples costume might be a little difficult to pull off because those Scoops Ahoy uniforms aren’t something you’ll find at a thrift store. But if you can pull this costume off, you’ll be the hit of the Halloween party. Sure, Steve and Robin aren’t a couple, but they do become best friends. And those uniforms are just so damn cute.  Plus, you can get away with eating ice cream all night!

Squints and Wendy Peffercorn from The Sandlot

If you check out Pinterest, you can see how many times this costume has been done. It’s cute and innocent, as is Squints’s love for Wendy. It’s pretty simple, too–a red one-piece, white-framed sunglasses, a ribbon in your hair and you’re Wendy. For Squints, a baseball tee, a backward hat, and maybe a bat. You can steal little kisses throughout the night like the one Squints steals from Wendy in one of the most iconic scenes in the movie.

Ross and Rachel from Friends

This is another couples costume that is really easy to pull off. You can really dress up as any version of Ross and Rachel that you like since there are hundreds of scenes with the two together. Just throw on some ’90s clothes and you’re golden. But if you don’t want to explain your costume to everyone all night, find some inspiration in the episode where the gang goes to Vegas, and Ross and Rachel get married. They both have marker on their face, and Ross literally has “Ross” written across his forehead. No one will have to ask.

Jim and Pam from The Office

The greatest love story of our generation! Pam and Jim are total couple #goals. We’ve watched them go from the best of friends to husband and wife in the nine seasons of the show. This is another super easy couples costume to pull off. To be a perfect Pam, wear a pink cardigan and a collared blouse. To be the best Jim, wear a collared work shirt, a tie, and a smirk. If need be, throw on some name tags. You’ll be a true Halloween hit.

Wayne and Garth from Wayne’s World

Okay, so, Wayne and Garth aren’t a couple. But they are best friends! And sometimes that’s better than being a couple. One thing that is great about this couples costume is how distinctive these looks are: band tees, ripped jeans, and messy hair? People are going to know who you and your boo are dressed as. Add the hat, the glasses, and the drum sticks, and you’ll be the best Wayne and Garth at the party.

Bonnie and Clyde from Bonnie and Clyde

Bonnie and Clyde might not be anyone’s favorite movie, but they are an iconic, real-life couple. They robbed banks, liquor stores, and gas stations until they were killed in a police standoff in 1934. That’s pretty epic. And they also make for cute costumes, too. A beret and a homburg (yes, I had to look that up) make this couples costume undeniably distinctive. Carry around a pillowcase full of fake cash (or real depending on your devotion to the costume) and you’re got one badass couples costume. Just don’t go around robbing banks.

Tony Montana and Elvira Hancock from Scarface

Another iconic couple, for better or worse. This costume might be a little hard to shop for, but the payoff will be well worth it. In the scene when Tony Montana and Elvira Hancock first meet, she’s in a teal, satin, floor-length dress. With her blond bob, smokey eye makeup, and stunning diamonds, she’s a force to be reckoned with. And Tony knows it. He’s in a pinstripe suit with giant, ’70s lapels. Stick a cigar in your man’s mouth, and you’re the perfect gangster couple.

John Bender and Claire Standish from The Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club is filled with iconic characters: the nerd, the jock, the princess, the weirdo, and the bad boy. So who would assume that Claire and John end up together? That’s what makes this costume so compelling. They shouldn’t have ended up together, but they do. Lots of pink is all that’s required for Claire. And John? A trench, a flannel, and Doc Martens. The ’80s are calling; they want their outfits back.

Mia Wallace and Vincent Vega from Pulp Fiction

If you’ve happened across this article even though you aren’t looking for couples costumes, Mia Wallace is a perfect Halloween look. Her look is distinctive enough without the help of Vincent Vega (John Travolta). But together, they’re a power couple costume. Hit the thrift store for a black blazer for him and a white collared shirt for her. Go barefoot to up the ante. Learn and perfect the dance, and no one will have to ask who you’re supposed to be.

Sandy and Danny from Grease

Another totally iconic couple. Sandy and Danny went through a lot together: a summer spent at the beach, a vicious snub, and a date to the carnival. Their end-of-the-movie looks are incredibly distinctive with Sandy in skin-tight pants and red heels and Danny in a letterman sweater and slicked-back hair. The end of the movie demonstrates the couples’ love for each other; they’re willing to change themselves for the other. And in the end, neither of them actually had to change. *enter crying emoji here*
