Given that Los Angeles is the second-largest city in the United States, there are a plethora of options to select from in terms of where you want to go to get some coffee beverages. The coffee scene in Los Angeles is buzzing and many coffee shops and cafes are whipping up some fantastic coffee beverages for customers to enjoy as they go about their day. Some of the final presentations of these drinks make fantastic Instagram worthy photos.

Please note that all of the Coffee Shops featured in this article are local ones that can only be found in Los Angeles (or other parts of Southern California too). National Coffee Chain Stores such as Starbucks and Duncan Donuts are not included.

Now, with all of that being said, let’s take a look down below and check out 10 of The Coolest Coffee Shops In Los Angeles That You Got To Try ASAP : 

1. Alfred Coffee & Kitchen:

Known for their neon signs and coffee sleeves emblazoned with their famous slogan “But First, Coffee”,  Alfred Coffee & Kitchen is one of the coolest and most popular coffee shops in Los Angeles for social media savvy millennials. Along with their stores in Austin, Texas, and in Tokyo, there are multiple locations across the city of Los Angeles. 

Popular coffee drinks at Alfred Coffee & Kitchen include their Lattes (Hot or Cold), Chai Tea Latte (Hot or Cold), and cold brew. Don’t forget to post a photo of your drink in front of the neon “But First, Coffee” sign on your Instagram! Trust me, an Instagram post like that will get you tons of likes. 

2. Dinosaur Coffee:

Of the most underrated and coolest spots for coffee in Los Angeles is Dinosaur Coffee on Sunset Blvd. Dinosaur Coffee not only offers fabulous coffee, but also minimalist yet Instagram-worthy interior, friendly baristas, and an airy room perfect for people to either catch up with their friends or finish their homework.

3. The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker:

With locations in El Segundo and West Hollywood, The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker is not only a hotspot in Los Angeles for its specialty coffee beverages, but also its craft cocktails, delicious baked goods, and other foods items paying homage to Modern California Cuisine with European Influences.

While at The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker, be sure to order any of their latte drinks as the presentation (see the photo below) is both impressive and Instagram-worthy.

4. Urth Caffe:

One cannot do an article about the best and coolest spots for coffee in Los Angeles without including Urth Caffe! There are eight (the ninth is in Las Vegas) locations across Southern California, with five of them being in Los Angeles in Beverly Hills, Downtown LA, West Hollywood, LAX, and Santa Monica. 

Urth Caffé is famous for its whole bean organic coffee and its fine teas (which are hand-selected). Popular drink items include the Honey Vanilla Latté (my favorite drink), the Caffé Granita, the Rising Sun Matcha Latte, and the Organic Green Tea Boba. Customers can also enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, and fresh pastries with their handcrafted beverages.

If you go to Urth Caffe, get there early as the place is always crowded and super busy. However, it is worth the wait as the presentation of the food and drinks are immaculate and make amazing Instagram-Worthy pictures!!

5. Nossa Familia:

This Portland-based, Brazilian-style coffee bar opened its’ first Los Angeles store in the freshly-restored Art Deco lobby of the Southern California Edison Company Building in DTLA. Of all the cool coffee shops in Los Angeles featured in this article, Nossa Familia is perhaps the most glamorous and historic spot to get and enjoy a cup of coffee at. 

6. Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea:

There are four Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea locations in Los Angeles: Hollywood, Venice, Pasadena, and Silver Lake. Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea is a popular spot among Los Angeles locals for its excellent coffee, yummy pastries, clean interior, and wonderful outdoor seating options. When it is not crowded, Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea is a great coffee shop to go study and get work done at. 

7. Go Get Em Tiger:

Another one of the most popular coffee shops in Los Angeles that you need to try ASAP the next you are in the city is Go Get Em Tiger. Along with owning G & B COFFEE (see #9 below) at Grand Central Market, there are eight Go Get Em Tiger Coffee Shops located all across Los Angeles in Larchmont (the original store), Los Feliz, Highland Park, The Arts District, The Row Downtown Los Angeles, The Music Center, Cinerama, and Culver City.

Like with several of the other coffee shops in Los Angeles featured in this article, the menu at Go Get Em Tiger varies at each of their stores. While at Go Get Em Tiger, popular coffee drinks (regardless of the store) that you should try there include the Iced Coffee, Latte, Almond Macadamia Latte, Oat Latte, and the Business & Pleasure, to name a few.

8. Paramount Coffee Project:

This Australian-owned coffee shop has locations in Fairfax and Downtown Los Angeles. Paramount Coffee Project offers excellent roasts from all around the world served as batched brewed, single cup, espresso, and cold brew. The food items and pastries offered at this Los Angeles coffee shop are also worth trying too. 

If you end up going to Paramount Coffee Project the next time you are in Los Angeles, be aware that the stores are small, so expect limited seating options amiable when you arrive. 

9. G & B COFFEE:

The owners of Go Get Em Tiger (see #7 above) also operate G & B COFFEE, which is located at Los Angeles Grand Central Market. G & B COFFEE is situated right on the edge of the market at the Hill Street entrance, making it a perfect place to run and grab some wonderfully crafted espressos and coffee drinks.

Popular coffee beverage options at G & B COFFEE include their signature Iced Latte (once dubbed “the best in America” by The New York Times), the G & B Shake, Mocha, and the Iced Almond Macadamia Nut Latte, to name a few options. 

10. Menotti’s Coffee Shop:

Located in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Venice, Menotti’s Coffee Shop is the place to go for an excellent cup of organic coffee and a relaxed, beach-front atmosphere. For any readers out there who are vegan, this place also offers vegan coffee options for you too. 

The location of Menotti’s Coffee Shop is what attracts many customers to this place as Menotti’s offers a wonderful view of the Venice Boardwalk.
