Bachelor In Paradise (BIP), the spinoff series of ABC’s The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, is set to return for its’ sixth season on August 5th. Former contestants from both shows will compete for a second chance at love in Mexico.
There are around 25-35 people in the cast each year, but they all don’t show up the first week. New arrivals each week pose a threat to already existing relationships. Typically, around two-thirds of the cast consists of those who were in the most recent seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette (This year being Colton’s and Hannah B’s seasons of each show respectively). The remaining one-third are contestants who were on either show two or more years ago, and/or were also was on a previous season of Bachelor in Paradise.
While we don’t know all of the total cast, ABC released photos on June 17th of the 19 contestants who will be part of the original cast of Season 6. From those 19, here are 6 contestants you should watch out for:
Although he got very little screen time on Hannah B.’s season, John Paul Jones (Yes, he likes to be called by full his first, middle, & last names) became an instant fan favorite for his quirky personality. Despite being sent home in Week 4, John Paul Jones was loved by the fans so much that he got some time in the hot seat (which is usually reserved for those who make the Top 10 or higher) during The Men Tell All. Some of his notable highlights from Hannah B. ‘s season include his reaction to the labor simulator and silently eating chicken nuggets in the background while watching other contestants get into fights. Fans can’t wait to see Bachelor in Paradise has in store for John Paul Jones.
Nicole was on Colton’s season of The Bachelor and fans remember her for her sense of humor (check out her Instagram) and bold attitude (she grabbed an eel during the group date in Thailand). She also got a lot of praise and support from fans for her close relationship with her autistic brother. Despite never getting a one-on-one date, Nicole still managed to get a group date rose during Week 3. While she formed a connection with Colton, she ultimately got sent home during Week 5 after a fight over her intentions for being on the show with fellow contestant Oneyka (who also got sent home the same episode with her). Will Nicole find love this summer?
Like Nicole, Demi was also another fan favorite from Colton’s season. A close friend of current Bachelorette Hannah B., she and Katie Morton (also on Colton’s season and part of the original cast of Bachelor in Paradise Season 6) made an appearance on the first episode of The Bachelorette to warn their friend about a contestant who had a girlfriend back home (they failed to catch that one of Hannah B.’s final three also had a girlfriend while on the show). On The Bachelor, fans remember Demi for her go-for-it attitude as she competed for Colton’s heart before the Bachelor sent her home in Week 6. She was also remembered for her special relationship with her mother, who was in jail and eventually got released while Demi was on the show.
Like John Paul Jones, Dylan was also on the most recent season of The Bachelorette. He got sent home by Hannah B. during Week 6, finishing in the top 9. Due to the Luke P. drama overshadowing the majority of Season 15, Dylan was a fan favorite who got very little screen time. Fans loved Dylan for his great fashion sense (he is a member of the famous salmon jacket club on Hannah B.’s season) and his facial expressions to various situations (mostly towards any of villain Luke P’s antics and when Hannah B. took a bite out of a pickle during the group date in Latvia). His Twitter account is hilarious. Fans can’t wait to see more of Dylan this summer on Bachelor in Paradise.
The co-runner-up of Colton’s season is back for her second chance at love on Bachelor in Paradise. Fans felt heartbroken for her when Colton dumped her and Hannah G. in order to pursue Cassie (who quit the show at the final three which lead Colton to famously jumped the fence). Besides her deep connection with Colton, she was remembered for her kindness and beauty. Tayshia stayed out of most of the drama during her time on The Bachelor (although she stuck up for close friend and fellow contestant Nicole after Oneyka tattled on her friend to Colton and sided with Kirpa in her feud with Caelynn and Cassie).
Chris Bukowski is back for his record-breaking sixth appearance on a Bachelor show. Bachelor Nation fans first meet Chris on Emily Maynard’s season of The Bachelorette, where he was eliminated after hometowns, finishing fourth overall (behind Final Rose pick Jef Holm and future Bachelors Arie Luyendyk Jr. (runner-up) and Sean Lowe (third place)). He then was on Bachelor Pad, the precursor to Bachelor In Paradise. He crashed Andi Dorfman’s season on the first night, only to be rejected, and then appeared as a late arrival on the first two seasons of BIP, where he left both times. Although he ‘retired’ from Reality TV after his second stint on Bachelor in Paradise, Chris is back for Season 6. Will the Bachelor Franchise veteran find love?
