Common Kinks Your Partner Could Have

The bedroom is the one place where we can let go of our egalitarian values and submit to our carnal desires. It’s where we satisfy odd desires and degrade our partners. Because behind every mild mannered individual is a dissident wanting so badly to defy proper decorum, to go against adages concerning equality of the sexes. Without further ado, here are the most common kinks your partner could have.

Foot Fetishes

Foot fetishes are undoubtedly among the most common kinks. It is odd that asses and feet have morphed into sexual body parts, as they don’t serve any reproductive purpose. The mystery of sex is fascinating. Also, I have yet to figure out why humans have a proclivity for putting they’re mouth on everything that arouses them. Such an odd phenomenon but a perfectly innocuous one with the proper hygiene.

Impact Play

Impact play usually precedes the more extreme aspects of BDSM. It involves spanking, paddling, or flogging. Like sex itself, impact play is liberating. It gives participants a chance to play roles that wouldn’t otherwise be appropriate. It defies cultural precepts and allows one sex to dominate the other. It can reinforce gender norms or allow the sexes to shed cultural expectations if only for a night.

Role Playing

Another kink that inevitably entails role playing is…role playing. As was the case with impact play, the most thrilling part of role playing can be the momentary dissolution of gender norms. Other times, role playing is a way to escape the banality of monogamy. It’s a way to recreate the exhilarating, impromptu moments that come with promiscuity. Having a quick, steamy sexual encounter is rare and can’t be surpassed in thrill.

Pee Play

To me, this is the most disgusting fetish on this list. However, if you’re willing to be hygienic, I don’t see a problem with it. With this fetish, consent is very important. Randomly peeing on your partner in the shower isn’t cute. In fact, it’s absolutely vile. In this view, you should be certain at the very least that he or she is open to consenting. Personally, I would only try this if your partner seems highly eager, as it can be a traumatic experience for the other person. This fetish can showcase dominance, or it can just be an odd kink. In any case, please be hygienic.

Voyeurism

Following a strict definition, this fetish can never be consensual, since it is defined as the action of viewing private affairs. However, a voyeur has come to be defined as any third party who is not involved in the sex itself but is instead viewing it. Put simply, based on this definition, both parties can be aware of the voyeur in the corner. Needless to say, the lawful meaning is the one you should adhere to. Voyeurism is highly illegal if it’s non consensual.

Obesity Fetishes

Common fetishes show that there are plenty of exceptions to the rule. Many degrading epithets are thrown at overweight people everyday. Though it is evident that obesity is linked to a myriad of health risks, I’ve found that shaming a person into losing weight is never an effective catalyst. Despite all the degradation, there’s definitely a sizable group of people who are aroused by extremely overweight people. The fetish goes against the notion that men and women are biologically attracted to a physically fit body. For women especially, this fringe is confounding given all the research that suggests women are inherently attracted to men with low body fat percentages.

The Daddy

Either daddy issues are pervasive or this fetish is much more innate than you’d think. Sure a degree of wisdom is beneficial in a relationship, but the prevalence of this fetish suggest that there’s more to it than an attraction to experience. Similar to racial preferences, age in men is culturally associated with virility. And this makes sense actually. The more sexual experience a man has, the more sexually competent he becomes. Being able to defer to a man who knows how to pleasure his significant other is a woman’s dream.

Cuckold

This fetish is closely tied to humiliation. Essentially, the woman has an affair with another man right before her husbands eyes, hence the name cuckold. This is meant to be arousing for the man especially, because it openly debases him. Such disrespect is humiliating and somehow arousing to certain people.

Fetishes For Objects

This last addition to the list covers a broad range of kinks. These fetishes have perplexed researchers for years. Presumably, they emerge early on and are a product of nurture as opposed to nature. But there doesn’t seem to be one unifying experience that triggers them. Some people just have a sexual attraction to shoes. The phenomenon could be as simple as that. But I don’t believe that the simplest answer is often the correct one. Most likely these fetishes develop through a set of experiences and subsequent associations between sex and inanimate objects. In all likelihood, those experiences vary from individual to individual and can’t be inclusively explained.

In the wave of radical feminism, it is easy to abhor the male desire to dominate. I myself think there’s nothing wrong with either men or women dominating their partners so long as those tendencies stay in the bedroom. With that said, what are some common kinks you think I missed?
