1. The Roommate With Poor Hygiene and Cleaning Habits:

“My roommate was literally the most disgusting person I’ve ever met in my life. She would go to the gym and come back sweaty, climb into bed, and go to sleep without showering. I’m pretty sure she only washed those sheets once or twice the entire year. She would make food and leave the half-eaten-out-of bowls all over her side of the room to mold and smell. Each of us had a mini fridge and a microwave; thankfully we didn’t share. She had food plastered to the inside of her microwave baked on, and her refrigerator was so disgusting it had its own ecosystem in there and things were growing. I went through so many bottles of Lysol and Febreeze my first year that I lost count.

2. Don’t Talk To Me, Talk To The Puppet:

“My roommate in the dorms wore a puppet on her shoulder and if you asked her a question she would answer with the puppet. It was a puppet of a griffin, which is a mythological creature that’s a combination of lion and eagle. It sucked. We also had all the same classes together and I woke up late more than once to that damn puppet in my face telling me the time.”

                                                                                                                                     -Kate Edwards told BuzzFeed

3. It Was The Bloody Tampons:

“My sister’s freshman year of college, she roomed with a really shy girl who kept to herself and was just sort of odd. After a couple of months, my sister noticed that their room started to have the weirdest smell. She tried to drop hints at her roommate, but she didn’t seem to notice, so my sister and her friends decided to investigate while her roommate was in class. They looked through the whole room and then finally looked through the roommate’s desk. They opened the bottom drawer to find that it was completely full of used, old, bloody tampons and pads… My sister moved out shortly after that.”

4. It’s a Dorm Room, Not a Biology Lab!:

“My freshman-year roommate was enrolled in a biology course with a lab component. One afternoon, I came back to the dorm and found her dissecting a pig’s heart and lungs on her desk, like it was completely normal.”

5. Mommy Dearest:

“My first roommate in college was extremely coddled by his mother (or at least I thought so). His home was about an hour away from campus and she came up every day to get his laundry and make his bed, clean his side of the room. They were both neat freaks, and I wasn’t a slob by any means but I wasn’t quite as neat as either them would have liked. What ended up happening is I would come back from class and find her making my bed, organizing my desk and picking up my dirty clothes. Didn’t really appreciate that but I didn’t want to make waves so I just kept my mouth shut. Finally it got really weird when I came back to the room after a class had gotten canceled and they were BOTH in the same twin bed. He was sleeping and she was stroking his hair/face and singing him a lullaby.”

6. The Vomiting Incident:

“My freshman roommate’s bed was lofted across the room from my bed that was lower. Right before I was supposed about to fall asleep, she sat up in bed, turned toward me, and projectile-vomited from her bed onto mine where I was lying down. She then puked half into the trash can and half on our carpeted floor for the next two days and never cleaned it up. This was following months of foul smells drifting from her closet of dirty clothes that she never washed and sleeping on a sheet-less bed for most of the year.”

                                                                                                                                         -Tina Eileena told BuzzFeed

7. Walked In on My Roommate’s Parents Doing This To Him:

“It was move out day and my roommate was working on a paper last minute. I was packing my stuff. His parents walked in and were absolutely pissed that he wasn’t packed yet. They immediately started scolding him while I was still in the room, but thankfully I had a final to go to and figured I’d dodge the storm. I said my goodbyes, assuming they’d be gone by the time I got back from my two hour final and went on my way.

As it happens, my final only took twenty minutes so I got back much sooner than they’d have expected. I opened the door, saw my roommate bent over his bed with his bare ass showing just as his mom wound up for a spank, and closed it as quick as I could. I went over to a friend’s dorm and helped her pack for a while until I felt safe enough to return. I never brought it up to him after that.”

8. My Roommate’s First Relationship:

“My roommate was a pretty shy dude. He didn’t talk a lot, only had one friend, and spent most of his time playing halo with that one friend. Eventually, toward the end of the year, he got a girlfriend. This was his first girlfriend, and I think he was her first boyfriend too, so they had a weird way of showing intimacy. For example, she would regularly spend an hour or more popping zits on his back (he had bad acne). Also, he once told me that when he or she had to shit, the other would sit in the bathroom as well to keep each other company. They would also sometimes hold hands to prove to each other how close they were. It mostly didn’t bother me, but one time I walked into the living room, and he covered up his junk really quickly with a pillow. I thought I’d walked in on a handjob, so I was like “sorry guys, I’ll get out of your way. She said “No, it’s not what you think. I was just trimming his pubes. seriously, he doesn’t even have a boner.” They were weird.”

9. My Roommate Tweets About Me:

“My freshman year, my roommate used to tweet about me all semester long. She never left the room and legitimately tweeted over 50 times about me and my friend, and whatever we were talking about. She even posted a 17-minute voice memo of us once. It became a thing for my friend and I to check her tweets every morning to see if she wrote about us. She never knew that we found out. #ChroniclesOfTheDrunkVariety if you’re interested.”

10. The Back-Stabbing Roommate:

“I was put in a random triple my freshman year of college and one girl in particular was a nightmare to live with. She was incredibly mean to me. After a rocky first semester of spreading rumors and backhanded comments, we ended up pledging the same sorority together second semester. Throughout the entire pledge process, she was determined to make my life difficult, bullying me every chance she got. She would quickly throw me under the bus every time something bad happened, and would often spread lies about me to the other girls. But to everyone else, she was a dear who would shower you with compliments and buy your friendship. But the most messed up thing she did was tell my boyfriend at the time that I cheated on him (which was false). That night, that rumor was spread among our sorority sisters and was shut down fast, exposing her true colors. I reported her to the RA and made her move out two weeks before the semester ended. Sadly, I still had to see her face throughout sorority events.”

11. The Roommate Who Went Psycho:

“My placed dorm roommate in college and I became friends first semester, hung out a little over the summer, and went back to be roommates again for the fall semester. She started acting very strange, secretly following me to classes and the gym. I got a new haircut, and she got the exact one a few days later. She started wearing my clothes and calling my friends out of town from my phone. When a friend came into town to visit for a long weekend, she got really mad and threw a huge fit in front of us both, claiming that I was a liar and not a good friend, and left. We went about our weekend, and when we came back to the dorm Saturday night, after being at a party until about 2:30 A.M., she was sitting in a chair in the dark. When I turned the light on, she was just sitting there staring at us. My friend was too freaked to stay there, so she got us a hotel room. The next day, while my roommate was in class, we went to the dorm, got all my stuff, and left campus. Luckily, it was the week before finals, so I took my exams and withdrew from the school. My friend and I ended up moving to another town, where I finished school, incident free.”

12. Champion of The Room:

“I got along pretty well with my freshman roommate, but we were both really competitive and had a long-standing rivalry of who was the “champion of the room”. Fast forward to the end of the year, I decided I needed to prove that I was the champion once and for all, so I went online and bought a trophy declaring myself champion of the room. I told my roommate that I was definitively the champion and he would soon find out why. He didn’t believe me at first, but I could tell he was getting nervous. The day the trophy came, I quietly picked it up from the mail room and left it on his desk while he was at class. He didn’t talk to me for about 3 days. A week or so later, he got pissed at me for something I can’t remember and decided he had to get back at me. Since he was a buffoon, he did what he knew best, and took a shit in my trophy. I made him wash it out with his bare hands. I still have the trophy today, and I am still the champion.”
