10 Cocktails Recipes That Are Cheap To Make At Home

It’s always good to have some cocktail recipes ready to mix up when friends come round. Making your own drinks is so much fun and a lot cheaper than buying them out. However, a lack of fancy liquors and mixers might leave you a little stuck for ideas. To help you out, we’ve come up with a list of 10 great cocktails recipes that are cheap and easy for you to make at home.

1. Homemade Sangria

Sangria is one of the cheapest and easiest cocktails to make at home because it consists of little more than wine and fruit. A cheap bottle of wine will never set you back much money. Then just mix it in a jug with some orange juice, sliced fruit and you’re good to go.

2. Mimosas

Mimosas are one of those classic cocktails that you can’t go wrong with and the best thing about them is that they are so cheap to make at home. This brunch classic consists of prosecco topped off with orange juice and it’s delicious to drink at any time of the day.

3. Watermelon Margaritas

These Watermelon Margaritas look really impressive but they’re actually really easy to make at home. All you need to do is split the cost of a bottle of tequila between your friends and then mix it with blended frozen watermelon and some lime for a refreshing drink.

4. Mojitos

More lime, less sugar, a little more rum? It’s always hard to get a mojito out that’s just how you like it. That’s why it’s so much better to make mojitos at home with your friends, so you can taste them and adjust the ingredients as you go. What’s more, they’re actually really cheap to make. Once you’ve split the cost of a bottle of rum, all you need is some mint, fresh lime, brown sugar and then soda water to top it up.

5. Wine Slushies

Wine slushies are the new thing when it comes to cocktails on a budget and as they contain frozen fruit, they’re practically guilt-free. To make them, simply throw your chosen frozen fruit, some wine and ice into a blender for a delicious drink. Some good fruits to use include mango, strawberries or pineapple.

6. Ginger Beer and Pear Cocktail

Everyone has got some ginger beer lurking in the back of fridge at home and this delicious ginger pear cocktail puts it to good use. To make, simply mix ginger beer with pear juice and some kind of spirit like Vodka for a dangerously addictive cocktail. You could even add in some cinnamon for an added kick.

The best thing about a cosmopolitan, apart from that it’s pink, is that it’s really easy and inexpensive to make at home. All you need is some vodka as your base and then cranberry juice to mix it with.  To finish it off either add in orange liquor or just a dash of orange juice to save money.

8. Caribbean Cocktail

This tasty cocktail is guaranteed to brighten your day and it’s one of those drinks that you can pretty much throw in anything that you have at home. The basic ingredients are Malibu and orange juice. After that, you can add in anything else you fancy such as grenadine, cranberry juice or some fresh fruit slices.

9. Bees Knees Cocktail

When it comes to cocktail recipes, this one is pretty sweet. Made with honey, this drink looks impressive but it actually contains only a handful of ingredients. All you need is gin, runny honey, egg white and lemon juice. To make it, simply mix all of the ingredients together and shake until the egg white is foamy.  Then just pour it into glasses, holding the foam layer back until the end.

10. Rum Punch

Rum punch is one of those failsafe cocktail recipes and an inexpensive drink to make for a party.  You’ll need a bottle of rum, some pineapple juice, orange juice or any other juices that you fancy, plus some grenadine.
