Your best friend is getting married, yay! You got chosen to support her on her special day (obviously), so now you have the task of helping her plan her wedding and making sure she doesn’t have a mental breakdown in the process. But, the planning isn’t all hers to do. Remember that as a guest of both the bridal shower and the wedding, etiquette demands a gift. As a member of the bridal party, etiquette also demands that your gift be a little more personal than the average. So how do you find the perfect gift when choosing a gift for the bride? Check out these great options below!
Gift registries are great for guests who don’t really know the bride or groom that well, but you’re one of the bride’s closest friends. You know all of her favorites! My advice would be to make your gift for the bridal shower to be personal to her taste (unless it’s a co-ed shower), and your gift for the wedding something that you know the bride and groom enjoy as a couple. However, a bridal gift box adorned with “Mrs” is always a cute and easy option like the one below!

Let me give a couple of examples. Let’s say that you know the bride loves to cook, and as a couple they like to travel. A Kitchen Aid is the ideal gift for an aspiring baker or cook, but it is a little out of the price range of a bridal shower. Something a bit cheaper and more personal is a recipe box. Hear me out, it sounds kind of lame. But if you collected your favorite recipes, plus some of your family ones that you know the bride likes, it would mean a lot to her that you took the time to put something together that will actually be useful in her new home. When choosing a gift for the bride, think about items like this that would make a real addition to her new space as a married woman!

For them, find a luggage set that matches their color preferences. Because they’ll usually be travelling together, a full set that includes a carry-on size, medium and large sizes will be both useful and appreciated. Not to mention that you’ll be thinking outside the box but still giving them something useful. This isn’t a comprehensive guide, there are too many options out there for that. The overarching message is: more expensive isn’t always better. Most of the time personal and thoughtful is better, as long as it’s going to be useful. When choosing a gift for the bride, practical is key! Give her something she will continue to use throughout her married life.
