So, accessories! I love accessories of all kinds. They’re a great part of any fashion look, regardless of the style — because they can be of multiple styles as well! Isn’t that dope? They add accents to the areas you want to highlight, draw attention to things you want people to look at, or just quietly make looks feel more complete.
Just like anything fashion-related, there are always trends that come and go. That also applied to accessories. Those trends change seasonally for all kinds of accessories – bags, hats, or even hairpins (which are some of my favourites). So what trends should you be looking out for this fall when purchasing accessories? First, let’s start off with:
Or, obviously, the fake imitation of thereof. Whichever sits right with you. What matters is the pattern.
Leather, and fake leather accessories, be they boots, bags, wallets or whatever else your heart desires, are currently seeing the rebirth of the à-la-snakeskin trend. They are expensive-looking and professional-seeming while still allowing for some colour and/or pattern variety. Snakeskin designs go especially well with boots, be those boots tall or short, chunky or flat.

The bigger, the more dramatic – the better.
As Dolce & Gabbana, amongst other luxury fashion houses, have shown us recently in their fashion shows, big brooches are about to be all the rage in the accessories department.
Attention-grabbing, detailed and fancy, these items have no purpose other than to make you look posher and more complete – and it usually works!

The longer, the better. The more unusual, the better!
To be fair, asymmetrical earrings might seem like unusual accessories as is. But, honestly, they’ve been a trend in Asia for quite some time, now developing a large following in the West. It immediately grabbed the attention of most companies – from posh, luxury brands to the most popular fast-fashion retailers — and sparking their interest. Your earrings can be as mismatched as you’d want. A different length for each? That works. Different colours? Hell yes. Two completely different earrings from separate sets? Brilliant, unique, never the same—you know the drill.

It doesn’t really matter what exact type of headgear we’re talking about here, be it a beret, a fedora, a beanie or a cap; what matters is not the exact accessory, but how attention-grabbing it is and how visible it is in your outfit.
Forget all about the simplistic beanies that just exist to look kind of cute and keep your head warm – now, they can attract people’s eyes to you, too. That can be achieved by multiple means: either very elaborate hats with adornments, or just hats that are a different colour than your outfit. Or both. Or — the list goes on. Your choice, really. That’s why they’re accessories: they aren’t obligatory, but they still feel good, right?
Not just pretty but also practical, headbands can really make you stand out in a crowd through various means.
Some headbands are bejewelled all over, making them shine brighter than most passersby’s futures; some can have a retro look, making you look like a real babe from the ’50s; some can just be simple, adding an air of collectedness and classiness to your whole outfit… the list of possibilities goes on. The fact stays – most people look cuter and more interesting with accessories like headbands.
This has been in place for a little short while (since this summer started, I’d say), but it is not going anywhere this fall. If anything, it’s kicking back even harder than before, making the rhinestones that would be on your hair accessories even bigger, even shinier and even more numerous. And since we’ve just discussed headbands, then, well…

But the rhinestone trend doesn’t end at hair accessories, though, and all brands are very aware of that. As such, it is actually much easier to find bejewelled accessories that fall under the jewellery category that would fit your tastes, rather than something like headbands. Still, though – hair accessories, earrings, bracelets, rings, necklaces? Maybe brooches? You can most likely find it all.

Just like the rhinestones trend, vinyl accessories – especially vinyl bags – have been in trend for some time now and it doesn’t look like they’re going away anytime soon.
They become different and get more elaborate designs – pearlescent vinyl, colourful vinyl, bags that combine multiple materials including vinyl… there is a lot of area to browse through and pick something out for yourself that caters specifically to your tastes!
Bright socks keep becoming all the rage and then dropping out of trend cyclically. Right now they’re back in trend again, and the brighter, the better. While socks are a necessary part of any wardrobe, regardless of gender, location and any other factors, they’re still considered accessories, and as such should be mentioned here.
Add some loud embellishments to them – flame embroidery? Metallic rings? Really, anything you can imagine, and you’re good to go!
