If you don’t know who Cherry Seaborn is by now, you may be living under a rock. She is the love of Ed Sheeran’s life; the muse behind the beautiful and heart-melting lyrics that we all love.
Ed and Cherry went to high school together in the UK before she left to go to the Duke University in North Carolina. He was completely smitten with her and when he had the opportunity to meet up with her in NYC, he jumped on it. They were so into each other that both Cherry and Ed quit everything they were doing to spend a year off to bond and create a strong connection. Now, their relationship is very serious and everyone around them talks about how in love they are. Ugh, my heart.
Ed’s most recent album, Divide, has tons of romantic songs, which are all about his love for Cherry. Don’t we all wish we had someone to write an album about us. Sigh.
“Perfect”, one of my favorite songs of all time off of Divide, is Ed literally pouring his heart out to Cherry. I found a love for me
Well, I found a girl, beautiful and sweet
Oh, I never knew you were the someone waiting for me
‘Cause we were just kids when we fell in love
Not knowing what it was
I will not give you up this time
And you can’t forget “Hearts Don’t Break Around Here”.
That every night I’ll kiss you you’ll say in my ear
Oh we’re in love aren’t we?
Hands in your hair, fingers and thumbs baby
I feel safe when you’re holding me near
Love the way that you conquer your fear
You know hearts don’t break around here
Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn are the modern day Romeo and Juliet (without the tragic ending, of course). If all hope is lost for you, know that your Cherry or Ed may be out there.
