Wines are a true gift to this beautiful world we live in. However, that wine drunk you are chasing sometimes is not budget-friendly, and sometimes you just need a good cheap wine to make you feel good. Luckily for you, and unluckily for my liver, I have an entire list of cheap wines that taste oh so amazing. So, take that last $10 bill and get yourself one of these fine wine selections, with only one entry being more than $10!
The first white wine I chose to include is this Chateau Ste Michelle Dry Riesling I found one day wandering through Target. This wine is incredibly dry but settles with a great mixture of fruit flavors. It leaves a great after taste, and pairs great with almost any cheese. At less than $10 for a bottle, you can not get wrong with this marvelous white wine.
Our first red wine is Pacific Peak Cabernet Sauvignon, a Californian wine flavored with cherries, cassis, and blackberry. You can usually find a bottle of this stuff for less than a $5 bill, but do not assume that means this is not a quality bottle of wine. Its strong explosion of flavor will prove to you that sometimes, less is more.
Our second white wine kept me guessing through the entity bottle. Aveleda Fonte Vinho Verde features a very complex aroma, which will have you smelling multiple tropical fruits, too many to guess them all. The taste leaves a tropical touch, with a slight spice to it. If you want to try to “experience” your wine, this bottle was made for you, and all for less than $10!
Our next red wine that is up at bat is Hectare Merlot, another California based red wine, also worth around $5. This Merlot blends plum and cassis while leaving a slight mint taste. This red wine is perfect for anyone who just enjoys red wine, and I would suggest it before the Pacific Peak wine only due to the fact that it pairs better with meats.
Coming up next is the bottle of wine which you have probably seen all over the place. Barefoot Moscato is arguably your best choice for a wine under $10. California based Barefoot Moscato leaves a crisp, fruity taste every time you take a sip. With hints of peach, and apricot, you can relax knowing Barefoot is the most awarded wine brand of any USA based wine competitions. With that much public positivity, you know that what your drinking is a trusted wine, which costs little to nothing!
Our most expensive entry is yet another California based box wine, Big Sipper. Big Sipper is a red wine that blends cherry, raspberry, and spice to bring a bold, yet balanced flavor to your tongue. While a $12.99 price point may make you think twice, it is important to know that this is the price of a 5-liter box, as opposed to the standard 750 milliliters which is the standard small bottle of wine. So, you are actually getting a pretty good deal in the long run with boxed wine!
Blue Vin Riesling is the perfect easy drink wine for the backyard barbecue. This German white wine is one of the most casual Riesling wines you can possibly include on your shopping list, mark my words. In fact, I got wine drunk at a family get together off of this stuff. And I am not talking feeling great wine drunk, I am talking passing out on my grandfather’s table shirtless wine drunk, so do with that information as you please.
As opposed to a wine that is great for parties, I wanted to include a wine that can be enjoyed in total solitude with no food. The Double Dog Dare Merlot is a very easy wine to drink, leaving sweet cherry flavors, as well as a slight ripe tannins flavor. Really, this food goes with everything or nothing. Eat it with any food, or just drink it alone, and you will enjoy it no matter what.
Our final white wine is Flip Flop Moscato, one of the most well-balanced wines on this entire list. The faint flower aroma blends with a sweet finish which will hang around for a short while. This Moscato is one of my go-to Moscatos because it does not go overboard in flavor, and instead seems to be like the third bed in Goldilocks, jussssst right.
Quick side note, have you ever actually thought about how the mama bear and papa bear in Goldilocks slept in different beds? Shouldn’t the mama bear and papa bear share a bed, or are they in some sexless marriage only held together by the baby bear?? I may be just a tad wine drunk during the writing of this article.
Our final wine of this entire list is Canyon Oaks Zinfandel, a spectacular Zinfandel wine that finds the perfect mixture of fruit and spice. The fruit and spice seem to battle for which flavor will be the superior taste on the tongue, leaving a near-perfect 50/50 split between the two. This wine is a good buy when you need to buy for multiple people but are unaware of what the group likes.
