These Are The Cheapest Cities In The US To Rent An Apartment

Looking for a cheap apartment to rent? That might be easier said than done depending on where in the US you currently live. If you live in an expensive city like New York or Los Angeles, you may want to consider moving. That might also be easier said than done if you don’t know where to look. Worry not. We have compiled a list of some of the cheapest cities in the US to rent an apartment.

1. Wichita, Kansas

Wichita is a city in south-central Kansas. It features things like science exhibits, museums, beautiful gardens, and more. The best part? The average rent for a one-bedroom apartment is just $470 a month!

2. Cleveland, Ohio

Cleveland is a major city in Ohio right on the shores of Lake Erie. It’s known for a lot including the stately Cleveland Museum of Art, the Cleveland Orchestra, and don’t forget its snowy winters. If you can handle their frigid winters and are into all Cleveland is known for, their apartments will be even better at just $525 a month for a one-bedroom!

3. Tucson, Arizona

Tucson is a city in Arizona’s Sonoran Desert surrounded by multiple mountain ranges. Home to the University of Arizona, Tucson has many vintage shops, nightclubs and restaurants. Being that it’s the desert, it does get hot, but also cools off a few months out of the year, as well. One-bedroom apartments in this city go for about $559 a month.

4. El Paso, Texas

El Paso is a city in west Texas along the waters of Rio Grande. Just outside the city is a park home to cacti and desert wildlife. It has a transitional hot and cold desert climate. Also, one-bedroom apartments in this city go for around $599 per month.

5. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

This city is the capital of Oklahoma and is known for its cowboy culture and capitol complex. It also features hot summers and cool winters with occasional snowfall, along with periods of heavy rainfall, but also periods of prolonged and severe droughts. If you can handle its extreme weather, though, and want to be a part of the cowboy culture, one-bedroom apartments go for around $650 per month.

6. Las Vegas, Nevada

Las Vegas is a city in Nevada’s Mojave Desert and is known for its vibrant nightlife. It does get very hot being that it’s the dessert, but if you can handle that and are into the nightlife scene, you can rent a one-bedroom apartment here for around $875 a month.

Tampa is a city on Tampa Bay along Florida’s Gulf Coast. It’s a major business center and is also known for its museums and other various cultural offerings. One-bedroom apartments here are around $1,100 a month.

8. Charlotte, North Carolina

Charlotte is a major city and commercial hub in North Carolina. It’s also known for the NASCAR Hall of Fame. It’s the perfect place for those who want to be in a major city setting without paying the major city prices. One-bedroom apartments here go for around $1,265 per month.
