College dorm rooms are renowned for their lack of storage space. Fortunately, there is furniture that can be purchased, at a low price, to help with that kind of dilemma. To give you specific ideas, here are some cheap college dorm room furniture that will improve your small space.
Desks are necessary for your college experience to be a college student’s experience. Where are you going to spend the long nights studying for an exam, or promptly writing down notes before your morning lecture? A college student’s desk is the chartered spot where all the action happens: breakthroughs, meltdowns, fists clenching, mind grabbing, all-around stresses occur. Having a convenient desk chair helps make those stressful moments more comfortable. If I were you, I would aim for a swivel desk chair.
Swivel desk chairs help create a flexible environment that will enable you to focus without having any discomfort or disturbances. They do this by helping to ease and support you in any posture you wish to recline in, with its adjustable tension control and fixed armrests. Not to mention these chairs on the cheaper side of making purchases.
I bought one during my third year of college, and I practically lived in that chair whenever I was in my room. It was perfect for when I wanted to set my feet up on my desk and recline while typing away on my laptop, or when I was up all hours of the night studying. It was comfortable. The only thing that was missing was a weighted blanket on my lap.

You generally do not think about utility carts when it comes to assessing what furniture you will need in your dorm room. It did not even cross my mind when it was time to get my dorm room furniture. After purchasing them, they will prove to be more helpful than you realize.
Utility Carts are a great way to maintain organization in your dorm room. Whether it is used in your bathroom to hold your hair supplies, makeup, lotion(s), and perfume(s), or in your room to hold your books, coffee mugs, or a framed picture. You can even choose to store your cleaning supplies, toilet paper rolls, and extra clean towels in them as well. Having enough storage in a college dorm room is hard to find. Utility carts are not.

As I stated before, it is hard to live in a college dorm that has very little storage space. You only have so much room to call your own: closet, desk, bed, and one 4-drawer dresser. If you are lucky. To create more storage space for yourself, I recommend purchasing a tier drawer tower.
Tier drawers are the ideal thing to have in a college dorm room. They are light to carry and move around, and they keep everything compact and organized. You can find a tier drawer practically anywhere. They come in relatively almost any size: small enough to sit and be used on your desk to store your pencils, pens, and papers, and tall enough to tower over your desk with five substantial drawers to hold any clothing items. Having a tier drawer will prove to be more effective in storing your necessities while also giving off the illusion that your room is bigger than it is.

Not every college dorm room is going to have a closet or enough space to store all your clothes, unfortunately. Luckily, there is such a thing as a closet organizer or a closet rack. I highly recommend putting it on your next shopping list.
Closet organizers are convenient for a dorm room. They keep your clothing items well-ordered while also not wedging them together. Of course, that is if you do not want them jammed too tightly in the organizer. It all depends on how many clothing items you want to put in and on the organizer. Using a closet organizer also comes in handy when putting your laundry away, and you realize that a few of your items need to hang dry. You can let them hang dry in or on the closet organizer. I am telling you; it is worth the twenty dollars.

Have you ever seen those colored or patterned cube baskets? They are usually at Target or Walmart. Growing up, I have used them for storage in my room. I used them for my coloring books, crafts supplies, journals, school notebooks. At one point, I stored my winter headwear in them. When I got to college, I continued to use the colored cube storage baskets, but I did not know where I would put them. That is until I went shopping at Ikea for furniture for my dorm room.
It was a 6-cube storage organizer, and it was the best furniture I bought for my dorm room. I stored my already filled cube baskets in them. Since every cube was a different color (blue or purple), the black organizer stood out. The best part of the piece of furniture was that it was big enough for me to also put my forty-inch T.V. screen on top of it. If your dorm room does not offer enough space for storage, and you want something big but also not too excessive, then I advise you to get a cube storage organizer. With the cube organizer, you do not have to fill it with cube-shaped storage baskets. You can use it as an item to personalize your room. Put a framed picture in one of the cubes, a canvas quote, or a little antique of some kind.
When it comes to purchasing furniture that is both simple and useful for storage, you can never go wrong with a ladder shelf. With a ladder shelf, you can use it to store anything. Clean towels, folded clothes, books, and pictures. If you wanted to, you could use it to store storage baskets, which can additionally store numerous items as well. Anything is possible with a standing shelf!
