15 Cheap And Fun Date Ideas Near The University Of Minnesota Twin Cities

Planning a date night can be tricky on a college student’s budget. Here are 15 cheap and fun date ideas near The University of Minnesota Twin Cities that will dazzle your SO without breaking your piggy bank!

1. St. Anthony Falls

Wander around the picturesque St. Anthony Falls, take a romantic stroll across the landmark Stone Arch Bridge which has some of the coolest views of the city (would make an awesome insta pic!), and perhaps stop at Aster Cafe for a yummy brunch for two (voted best first date spot in MSP!)

2. Skating

Lace up your skates and hit the ice at one of the areas famous ice skating rinks, The Depot, Roseville Oval, or Rice Park!

 

 

3.  Sledding & Hot Cocoa

Step up your sledding game for as little as $10 and take a cruise down Buck Hill on one of their giant tubes! Race each other down the slopes and maybe even make a bet, loser buys hot chocolate afterwards!

 

4. The Observatory Deck

Gaze out over the city lights and get some of the best views of the city from the Foshay Observatory Deck (an adorable photo opp!)

 

5. Como Zoo Conservatory

Escape into nature (even in the midst of the winter) at Como Park Conservatory, with several different greenhouses, the conservatory makes for a perfect little refresher when you’ve hit the winter blues.

Release your inner child side and slip and slide through this 70,000 square foot indoor waterpark! With a ten story high water slide, surfing slope, and lazy river you certainly won’t be bored, so go ahead, soak up all the fun!

Who doesn’t like ice cream, especially when it’s Izzy’s? Located right in Mill City Park, Izzy’s and it’s massive selection of delicious flavors is just a short walk away. Share a cone or get your own, either way it’s too yummy to resist!
