Celebrities Who You Had No Idea Were Related To Each Other

Notable celebrities who are related include Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson, Ben Affleck and Casey Affleck, The Kardashian-Jenner Families, and Peyton and Eli Manning, to name a few. Besides these well-known, related stars (and many others as well), there are also many sets of celebrities who are related that you have probably had no clue/idea about.  

Whether it is by blood and/or by being in-laws, there are many high-profile siblings (and half-siblings too), current/former in-laws, parent/child duos which are all under the radar unless one follows the lives of these related celebrities. There are even some well-known public figures who are in-laws with each other that still are family even if the marriage/relationship that made them related doesn’t work out in the end. 

With that being said, listed below are 10 Sets of Celebrities Who You Had No Idea Were Related To Each Other: 

1. Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci:

One of the most well-known sets of celebrities who related via marriage is Actors Emily Blunt (on the left) and Stanley Tucci (in the center). The two became fast friends after starring in the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada together alongside Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep. At Blunt’s wedding to The Office Star John Krasinski in 2010, Tucci met Felicity Blunt (on the right), a literary agent and one of his former co-star’s three sisters. 

The Oscar-Nominated Actor and the literary agent hit off right away and soon began seeing each other. Stanley and Felicity ultimately wed in 2012, which made the former in-laws with Emily. In addition, Emily is an aunt to their two children and a step-aunt to Tucci’s three children with his late first wife Kathryn. 

2. Jenny McCarthy and Melissa McCarthy:

Although there are a lot of people (including celebrities) in the world who have the same last name, it’s not always the case that they are related. One such pair of celebrities that a lot of people don’t know are actually related include Jenny McCarthy (on the left) and Melissa McCarthy (on the right)!

The two actresses and comedians are first cousins! In fact, Jenny helped Melissa land her first acting job, which was on an episode of the former’s sitcom Jenny, which ran from 1997-1998.

3. Alfie Allen and Lily Allen:

The Game of Thrones Star (on the right) and The English Singer-Songwriter (on the left) are brother and sister. Lily’s 2007 single “Alfie”, which she also wrote, is about her brother. 

4. Diego Maradona and Sergio Aguero:

Striker Sergio Aguero (on the right), who plays for Manchester City and the Argentine National Team, was married to Gianna Maradona from 2008-12. Their marriage made the former a son-in-law of former Argentine footballer Diego Maradona (on the left), who is considered as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport.

Both father and son-in-law worked together for Argentine National Football Team when Diego served as Argentina’s Manager from 2008-2010. Aguero (who’s still an active player for the national team) part of his father-in-law’s final 23 man squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, where Argentina was eliminated in the quarterfinals (last eight teams left).

Despite the divorce in 2012, Aguero is still linked to the Maradona family by his and Gianna’s son Benjamin (born on February 19th, 2009 and the child who Aguero is carrying in the photo below).

5. Whitney Houston and Dionne Warwick:

Not only are the two legendary singers and Grammy-Winners (Houston has eight (six competitive and two Hall of Fame awards) and Warwick has six), but the two celebrities are also cousins! The two have performed a couple of duets together before the former’s unexpected death on February 11th, 2012. 

6. Brandy, Ray J, and Snoop Dogg:

Here’s the rundown for how these three celebrities are related: Brandy (in the center) and Ray J (on the right) are siblings, with the former being the older of the two. As seen on their social media accounts, both singers have a close sibling relationship. Brandy and Ray J are close to Rapper Snoop Dogg (on the left), who is a first cousin of theirs! Snoop Dogg and Brandy even worked together on the song “Special”, which was released in 2009.

7. Amy Schumer and Chuck Schumer:

A lot of people don’t know that the actress and comedian is related to the New York Senator and Senate Minority Leader. Amy and Chuck are second-cousins, once removed.

Despite working in two completely different professions, the two cousins teamed up in 2015 to push for tighter gun-control laws after a shooting occurred at a screening of the actress’s film Trainwreck in Lafayette, Louisiana, which left nine injured and 3 dead (including the shooter). In addition, Amy came to Chuck’s defense in an impassioned, lengthy Instagram Post after President Trump called him “Fake Tears Chuck” in one of his Twitter rants in 2017. 

8. Madonna and Hilary Clinton:

Another shocking pair/set of celebrities who are related include Madonna and Hilary Clinton! The 2016 Democratic Presidential Candidate and former Secretary of State confirmed on an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she and The Queen of Pop are tenth cousins. The two icons share the same great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandparents.

9. Nicholas Cage, Sofia Coppola, and Jason Schwartzman:

All three celebrities are members of the large and talented Coppola Family. Cage (an Oscar winner) is the son of August Coppola, who is a brother of Oscar-Winning Director Francis Coppola. Sofia is the only daughter and the youngest child of Francis. Schwartzman’s mother is Actress Talia Shire, who’s the sister of Francis. This family web makes this trio all first cousins. 

10. Tom Brady and Kevin Youkilis:

The NFL Quarterback for The New England Patriots and The Former MLB Player for The Boston Red Sox became brothers-in-law in 2012 after the latter married Julie Brady, one of the former’s three older sisters. Both athletes are legends in the city of Boston as both have won multiple championships in their respective sports with their teams: Brady has won six Super Bowl titles with the Patriots and Youkilis has won two World Series titles with the Red Sox.
