Ben Affleck and Matt Damon; Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox; and The Banana Boat Crew (consisting of NBA Players Carmelo Anthony, Dwayne Wade, Lebron James, and Chris Paul) are among the most famous groups of celebrities that are friends, to name a few. Each of the close connections between these celebrities are well documented on their social media accounts that feel fans feeling #freindshipgoals.
By looking at celebrities’ social media accounts or following pop culture, one will easily know which stars are friends with each other or not. However, with the former, one can also discover friendships between certain celebrities that they believed never existed. Despite different backgrounds and/or careers, celebrities have ways of having/forming friendships with other celebrities that leave fans wondering how they even started in the first place.
Now, with that being said, here are 10 Groups of Celebrities Who You Didn’t Know Were Friends:
1. Anna Kendrick and Adam Lambert:
The Oscar-Nominated Actress (on the right) and the singer and American Idol Season 8 Runner-Up (on the left) were friends before they both became celebrities! It turns out that 2009 was the year that gave the two friends each of their big breaks.
During an interview on American Idol host Ryan Seacrest ‘s radio show in 2010, Kendrick revealed that when they ran into each other at a party a year ago, both celebrities shared and kept each other’s big secrets. Kendrick stated that Lambert told her that she, “[Couldn’t] tell anyone, but [he] tried out for American Idol and [he got] through Hollywood Week,”. In response, Kendrick then told Lambert that he, “[Couldn’t] tell anyone, but I just booked this movie with George Clooney!”.
The film she was referring to was Up In The Air, which saw Kendrick earn various awards and nominations for her role, including an Oscar Nomination for Best Supporting Actress. After those confessions, the two celebrities didn’t see each other again until The 2010 Critics Choice Awards and SAG Awards and reflected how 2009 shaped each of their careers.
2. Kris Jenner and Jennifer Lawrence:
It’s no big secret that Jennifer Lawrence (on the right) is a huge fan of The Kardashians. What surprises most people is that the Oscar-winning Actress has a tight friendship with Kris Jenner (on the left), the matriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. On an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! where Lawrence filled in as guest host, she recounted a story with Kim Kardashian (who was a guest on that episode) about the time she went over to Kris’s house for dinner and the two got so drunk that Lawrence stripped naked in Jenner’s closet!
