We’ve all been there; we’ve all had one of those nights where you drink a little too much. However, when “one of those nights” turns into every time you drink, it is a clear indication that you don’t know your alcohol limit. Here are 15 signs that prove you don’t know your limit:
Partying is meant to be fun. If you find yourself crying during social events, you are drinking too much. Drinking away your feelings indicates that you are abusing your limit.
Drunk hookups are nothing to be ashamed of, unless you find yourself interacting with an ex or cheating on your partner. Not being able to understand your actions shows that you don’t know your alcohol limit.
If alcohol makes you aggressive instead of social, you are abusing it. You should not continue to drink past the point of understanding your feelings and actions.
It’s never fun to wake up nauseous or with a massive headache. The best way to avoid hangovers is to simply drink less (and stay hydrated).
Puking is your body’s way of saying that you can’t handle the alcohol. It is important that you learn your limit as vomiting is dangerous and can get you kicked out of parties.
Overconsumption of alcohol often leads to feelings of depression. If you find that you regularly feel overwhelming sadness during and after consumption, you need to drink less.
If you make your friends leave early, you drank too much. Plain and simple.
Blacking out due to alcohol is dangerous. Being vulnerable to danger and not being accountable for your actions is not what drinking should result in.
It is not uncommon to do things when drunk that you wouldn’t normally do. If you find yourself regretting things you have said and done, you shouldn’t be drinking to that extent. Alcohol is not an excuse to act in ways that are unfair to others or yourself.
When being drunk leads to falling everywhere, you drank past your limit. This can lead to injuries, and you’ll also regret drinking so much in the morning.
Needing emergency assistance is proof that you don’t know your limit. No one wants to end their night in an ambulance/hospital due to drinking. If this happens, it is a good idea to be drinking a significant amount less.
Alcohol dependency is a real thing! If you find yourself unable to socialize without getting completely wasted, you’re using alcohol for all the wrong reasons.
Over-spending and blaming it on alcohol is a really bad sign. Drinking less is something to consider to prevent this from becoming habitual.
And then you end up thinking, “how did this happen!”.
Once you’re drunk, stop drinking. Whether it’s because you don’t want your drunk to fade, or because the alcohol just doesn’t taste as bad, drinking past the point of being too drunk shows you are abusing your limit.
