15 Realistic Smoothie Recipes

Smoothies are an easy breakfast or snack. But I find that smoothie recipes sometimes have a lot of ingredients and aren’t realistic to the everyday woman. These are our 15 realistic smoothie recipes.

1. She Basic

This is the strawberry and banana classic that we all know and love. Any berry will do the trick but strawberry and banana are the most iconic.

Since I like my smoothies thick like ice cream I freeze the banana. I use 2 frozen bananas, 1 cup strawberries, 1 cup almond milk, and 1/2 cup plant protein.

2. Millennial

I call this the millennial mainly because there is avocado in it. I put avocado in most of my smoothies for texture. A firm avocado. 1 cup mango, 1 cup raspberries, 1 cup avocado, 1 cup soy milk and 1/2 cup plant protein.

If you like your smoothies to be a bit sweeter I recommend using the sweetened vanilla soy milk.

3. Bali Thot

This is the tropical blend that I would usually have as a refreshing snack. You need 1 cup of coconut water, 1 cup frozen mango, 1 cup frozen papaya, half an avocado and a tablespoon of spirulina powder.

This powder can give your smoothies a weird color when mixed with yellow and orange fruits. It is optional and any powder works great.

4. Nutty Professor

This is for everyone that loves to reach for that jar of almond butter. 2 frozen bananas, 1/2 cup of almond butter, 1 cup plant milk and some frozen coconut.

This smoothie recipe is very filling and makes a great breakfast. It is thick and is great for a smoothie bowl.

5. Fruity like Me

This is also very tropical and more like a slushie. This shockingly tastes great with a little bit of vodka. it is like a virgin daiquiri. 1 cup frozen strawberries. 1 cup frozen papaya, 1 cup frozen dragon fruit and 1-2 cups water. Add more water if you want it to be less thick.  This also tastes good with coconut water.

6. Just Peachy

This is quite the kick in the pants in the morning. And if you are really in it for the aesthetics don’t add the spinach. 1 cup frozen peaches, 1 cup frozen mango, 1 cup water, and 1/2 teaspoon ginger.

Add less ginger if you are not a fanatic like me. Protein powders are always optional if you have a brand you love but I stick to anything that is plant-based.

7. Glow Baby

This is my smoothie when I am feeling like a healthy bitch. Because kale is the essence of a healthy lifestyle.

I use 2 cups chopped kale, 1 cup frozen mangos, 1 cup raspberries, 1 cup blueberries, 1/2 cup spinach,1 cup almond milk, and half an avocado. The light green color can be kind of cute.

8. Chai Queen

Everybody likes chai tea lattes. It is a societal fact, it is a tea that tastes like a desert. Which I thick we all love.

This smoothie does the same. 1 1/2 cup chai tea concentrate, 1 cup vanilla greek yogurt, 1 frozen banana, and 1 cup almond milk. Pour over ice if it is not as thick as you want for a boosted chai tea latte experience.

9.  Pina Colada

Technically a pina colada has the texture of smoothie so why not make this iconic drink in the afternoon and then when it hits 3:30, girl put some vodka in there. I use 1 cup of ice, 1 cup frozen pineapple, 1 cup frozen coconut and 1 cup coconut water. Add less or more for desired thickness.

10. Thicc Bitch

This smoothie always turns out perfect. The consistency is magical and dare I say it, thick. Use 1 cup frozen blackberries, 1 cup vanilla greek yogurt, some honey, and 1 frozen banana. Maple syrup also works instead of honey

11. An Avocado, Thanks

12. Cafe Smoothie

I will admit that this isn’t my go to. At first, I wasn’t sure and I definitely like this to be a little thinner than most of the smoothies. But if you don’t have time to eat breakfast and drink your coffee then this is for you.

Use 1/2 a cup chilled espresso, 1/2 a cup of almond milk, a pinch of almond extract, cinnamon, and ice. If you want to make it thicker you can add greek yogurt but I prefer it like a dessert coffee. Blend or not.

13. Berry Blast

This is close to the generic smoothie recipe. It is simple and most of the time you can buy these berries all together in a bag, just head to the frozen section of your grocery store.

I use 1/2 a cup strawberries, 1/2 cup blueberries, 1/2 a cup raspberries and half an avocado. I blend that together with vanilla soy milk and a handful of spinach.

14. Banana Republic

For this, I use honey greek yogurt to give it a bit more flavor than vanilla greek yogurt. This tastes the best if you use a vanilla whey protein.

I use 2 frozen bananas, half an avocado, 1 cup honey greek yogurt, and 1/2 cup whey protein. If you want more flavor add almond butter and almond extract.

15. Turmeric?

I am a fan of the cayenne and turmeric in drinks trend. I like the taste but it can be hard to incorporate into a smoothie as smoothie recipes are different than juice recipes. Personally, I think apples in smoothies give it a weird taste and texture.

I use 1 cup frozen mango, I cup frozen peach, I cup frozen banana and turmeric. I then add 1 cup of coconut water and mint. Blend and pour over ice for a great in-between.
