Whether you’re a native or visiting, this article lists some of the best food places in Vancouver, BC. Read on if you’re looking for a new place to try!
78 East 1st Avenue
Amato Gelato offers delicious Mario’s Gelati! It’s fresh and flavourful. With featured flavours like Hedgehog, Caramel Lava Cake and Chocolate Peanut Butter, there’s sure to be something to please everybody! My personal favourite? The Green Tea has a bold matcha flavour; it’s something I make a special trip for.
2474 E Hastings
The baked goods are fresh daily made from quality ingredients. I can’t remember what the name was but they have a croissant that looks like a cinnamon bun, tastes like a cinnamon bun but is incredibly flaky and buttery. It’s a perfect place to stop in for a quick bite or a sweet treat!
Thin, New York Style Pizza! Nat’s has two locations: one in kits and one downtown. I love the margherita pizza but my boyfriend always gets the 5th avenue which is fully loaded with spinach, feta and many more toppings. It’s a cheap bite and the experience is memorable. There’s always something to look at on the walls too!
3424 Cambie Street
I am a Vegetarian and it’s incredibly hard to find any restaurants with faux chicken. I would recommend going there for the lunch special since it can be quite pricey. My favourite? The sweet and sour “chicken.” This is one of my favorite food places in Vancouver, BC.
3150 W Broadway
Bon Ton does an incredible High Tea. They have full sized and bite sized cakes, confectionery and more. It’s like taking a trip back in time. The Diplomat is a family favourite, sponge soaked in rum and a buttery icing, it’s sure to please. The Religious cake is the same as the diplomat, just without rum!
2833 Main St
Goldilocks is a chain of stores that specialize in filipino baked goods. I absolutely love their Ube Cake, a gorgeous purple sponge made out of purple yam. They have plenty of other individually wrapped mini cakes, cookies and also make custom cakes as well. They used to have more locations but not so much anymore, so get it while you still can!
1033 Venables Street
La Casa Gelato has over 500 flavours. From the most basic flavours you’ll recognize to the most obscure, the selection is mindblowing! They make their own waffle cones and are in an incredibly bright pink building. Perfect ice cream photo op!
3003 Kingsway #1,
Chilli Pepper House offers an incredible array of Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian items. It’s Chinese/Indian fusion with a huge menu. They are one of the best bang-for-your-buck lunch places with incredibly friendly and prompt service. It runs 11:30 to 2:30 with 25 items to choose from!
3851 Main St
Vancouver wouldn’t be Vancouver without Sushi! My sister introduced me to this place when ordering a lot for family dinners. There’s so many different places that it’s hard to navigate, but the specials are beyond reasonable. 2 items & Miso, only 5.95 or up that to 3 items and miso for 3 more dollars. I love the Inari and they make a delicious Teriyaki sauce!
Last but not least on our list of food places in Vancouver, BC, DOUGHNUTS! Cartems has 3 locations and they do it up real good. They offer a wide variety that includes both Vegan and Gluten free as well. My favourite is the Chocolate Glaze doughnut but I’m eager to try the Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake Doughnut. They have unique flavours like Earl Grey and Honey Parmesan just to name a few.
