10 Bubble Tea Recipes To Try At Home

If you’re just like me you probably miss getting to go out on the regular to your favorite bubble tea spot. You’re probably missing getting your classic bubble tea order on your way to school or work. Bubble tea is actually really easy to make at home! It’s also a really fun activity to do with your roommates so you can all learn how to make each other bubble tea orders at home. This saves you time and money that it would take to go out and purchase the bubble tea yourself. Once you know the ingredients you’ll be able to make your own bubble tea right at home. 

1. Classic Milk Tea Bubble Tea

Ingredients: 

Quick-cooking tapioca pearls

Toppings of your choice

8 bags of black tea

4 cups of hot water

Whole milk

Simple syrup or your choice of sweetener

Directions:

-Seep the tea bags into the hot water and leave until the water is totally cooled.

-Cook the tapioca pearls following bag instructions.

-After cooking mix pearls in water then stir in simple syrup.

-Put tapioca pearls into glasses then add ice. Pour in the cooled down black tea. Add in simple syrup then the milk of your choice for a delicious and easy at-home milk bubble tea.

2. Mango Bubble Tea

Ingredients:

Quick-cooking tapioca pearls

2 green tea bags

250 ml of boiling water

2 tablespoons honey

1 ripe mango

2 oranges juiced

Directions:

-Boil tea bags for about 5 minutes. Stir in the honey then set aside and let cool. Then refrigerate till cold.

-Cook tapioca pearls as instructed on the bag.

-With a blender blend the mango flesh and orange juice. Pour the mango puree with the tea and tapioca. Mix well for a fruity mango bubble tea.

3. Matcha Bubble Tea

Ingredients:

Quick-cooking tapioca pearls

750 ml of milk

2 tablespoons match powder

80 grams of sugar

Directions:

-Cook tapioca pearls as instructed on the bag.

-Bring milk to a boil then mix in sugar and matcha powder. Cool the milk mixture in the fridge. 

-Once the mixture is cooled pour into cups with ice and tapioca pearls.

4. Thai Bubble Tea

Ingredients:

Quick-cooking tapioca pearls

1 cup of Thai tea mix

4 cups of water

3/4 cup sugar

1 cup half and half

Directions:

-Cook tapioca pearls as instructed on the bag.

-Boil water then add Thai tea pack with sugar. Once dissolved and boiling for a few minutes remove from heat.

-Allow tea mix to steep for about 30 minutes till cooled down. 

-Pour the Thai tea into a glass with ice and tapioca pearls leaving room for half and half. Finally pour in half and half.

5. Taro Slush Bubble Tea

Ingredients:

Quick-cooking tapioca pearls

2 cups ice

1 cup whole milk

3 tablespoons taro powder

1 tablespoon condensed milk

Directions:

-Cook tapioca pearls as instructed on the bag.

-Combine ice, whole milk, taro powder, and condensed milk in a blender and blend until smooth. -Add ice or more milk to adjust to preferred smoothie thickness.

-In a glass put in tapioca and pour in taro slush. Enjoy your at-home bubble tea classic.

6. Coffee Milk Tea

Ingredients:

Quick-cooking tapioca pearls

2 cups strong black coffee

6 tablespoons sugar

1 cup strong brewed green tea (chilled)

1 1/2 cup whole milk

Directions:

-Cook tapioca pearls as instructed on the bag.

-Combine the coffee and sugar together till the sugar dissolves. Chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour. 

-Mix the sweetened iced coffee, green tea, and milk together. Serve with ice and tapioca pearls and enjoy.

7. Strawberry Lemonade Bubble Tea

Ingredients:

Quick-cooking tapioca pearls

4 1/2 cups strawberries

4 lemons

1/2 cup sugar

Water

Ice

Directions:

-Cook tapioca pearls as instructed on the bag.

-Blend together 1 cup of water and strawberries. Strain the blended strawberries.

-Combine sugar and 1/2 cups water till sugar is dissolved.

-Juice all lemons. Combine strawberry juice, lemon juice, and sugar mixture together and mix. -Add in tapioca pearls and ice for a refreshing bubble tea.

8. Caramel Milk Tea

Ingredients:

Quick-cooking tapioca pearls

Caramel sauce

2 cups of milk

2 black tea bags

Directions:

-Cook tapioca pearls as instructed on the bag.

-Bring your milk to a boil then slowly pour in the caramel sauce.

-Add tea bags to boiling milk and let it seep while caramel sauce dissolves. 

-Once the caramel is dissolved, take off the heat and let tea bags steep for a few more minutes depending on how strong you want your tea.

-Throw out tea bags once done and serve drinks hot or cold with tapioca pearls.

9. Strawberry Slush

Quick-cooking tapioca pearls

1 cup strawberries

½ Orange Juice

Ice

Water

Sugar

Directions:

-Cook tapioca pearls as instructed on the bag.

-Chop up strawberries then place them in the freezer for 1 to 2 hours.

-After freezing put frozen strawberries, water, orange juice, and ice into a blender and mix. Blend until smooth.

-Serve with tapioca pearls for an easy bubble tea smoothie

10. Brown Sugar Bubble Tea

Ingredients:

Quick-cooking tapioca pearls

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup water

1 cup milk

1 cup ice

Directions:

-Cook tapioca pearls as instructed on the bag.

-For the brown sugar syrup combine the brown sugar and water in a saucepan and boil at high heat. Lower to medium and let the mixture bubble for about 5 minutes till it thickens. Put in a bowl and let cool at room temperature. 

-Pour brown sugar syrup onto the sides of the desired glass and pour in the desired amount of tapioca pearls.

-Mix together well milk and the brown sugar syrup till well combined then pour the drink into the decorated glass. 

-Serve with ice for this iconic and fan-favorite bubble tea drink.
