When it’s time to get ready for your morning commute, or you don’t want to miss the train to work or school – easy breakfast ideas are the way to go. Here’s some breakfast on the go ideas to try ASAP!
A super easy, protein-filled way to eat some eggs for breakfast is making egg muffins. You can make them the night before in the oven, and pop them in the microwave for a little less than a minute, to get a warm, quick on-the-go breakfast. Egg muffins are super easy to make, and require a baking sheet for muffins, spray to coat each muffin holder, eggs, vegetables, cheese, and spices you enjoy. You start by whisking the eggs in a measuring cup (you will need about 3-4 if you are planning on making a good amount of egg muffins). You will fill each muffin cup with vegetables, cheese, meat, and spices and then drizzle some of the egg mix on top. Once your muffin cups are filled, pop them in the oven for about 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked – and eat them the next day for your breakfast, or as a snack during the day. Egg muffins can be made with pretty much anything you like with your eggs, and are so easy to eat on-the-go, you will forget they even took over 20 minutes to make the night before!
You may have come across “Perfect Bar” at Starbucks, Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s. They are bars found in the refrigerated section of stores, and are so filling for breakfast, and delicious as ever. The bars are cold, and made with ingredients that taste so fresh. Also, Perfect Bars are made with no GMOS and they’re gluten free – so that’s a perk too! There are a ton of different flavors, but if you’re finding them in a grocery store or at a Starbucks, you will probably find “Dark chocolate chip peanut butter”, “Peanut Butter”, “Coconut Peanut Butter”, “Dark Chocolate Almond” or “Chocolate Mint.” The ingredients used in making perfect bars contain superfoods, making these breakfast bars full of protein, and good for you too. They must be refrigerated before consuming them, and they will definitely be one of the yummiest bars you have ever had on-the-go, and in general!
As if Trader Joe’s wasn’t great enough for finding affordable, tasty snacks and assorted cheeses – they also are a perfect place to go to for on-the-go breakfast items. Trader Joe’s organic oatmeal cups make breakfast a lot easier. They have oatmeal that is cooked with simply pouring hot water into the container, or filling the oatmeal cup up with water and placing it in the microwave. It takes just a few minutes to have a delicious, organic cup of oatmeal that you can enjoy on-the-go with a spoon, without worrying about cleaning your ceramic bowl after.
Like egg muffins, hard boiled eggs can be made the night before for next day’s breakfast. Hard boiled eggs are made by simply boiling water, slowly dropping a couple eggs in, and letting them boil for about 10-12 minutes. Lift the eggs out of the water, let them cool, and peel the shell off. The next morning, you can grab your hard boiled eggs, cut them in half, sprinkle some salt and pepper on them and put them in some tupperware. Eat them along with a banana, or a piece of toast for a breakfast full of protein.
It’s true, Trader Joe’s really does have everything – including packs of 4 muffins of all different flavors you could think of. They have blueberry muffins, banana chocolate chip, morning glory, and chocolate chip muffins. The variety at the store you go to may vary from other locations, but any of these muffins are good for breakfast. They are the same portion size as a muffin you would buy at a coffee shop, and can save you money when you buy a pack of 4, so you can have a few to get your morning going on the way to work!
There’s a lot of reasons to love smoothies. They’re refreshing, filling, and can be made as sweet as you want or as healthy as you want when you make them yourself at home. If you’re in a rush for work, making a smoothie can be an easy way to get a nutritious breakfast on the go. The night before work, you can make a smoothie in a freezer bag, well kind of. Take a freezer bag and fill it with spinach, strawberries, bananas, blueberries – or any fruit or vegetables and leave it in the freezer. In the morning, simply pour your smoothie bag into a blender with a milk of your choice (and maybe some peanut butter or almond butter) and you’ll be good to go! This breakfast is a quick way to get some fruits and veggies in, and also saves you time in the morning. Putting all your ingredients in a bag the night before, makes it so you don’t have to wash any vegetables or fruit in the morning, or take the time to cut anything up. Move your smoothie blend to a reusable cup and you will have a yummy, sweet breakfast that will make you feel energized in the morning! Add a granola bar, hard boiled egg or a piece of toast for an extra snack to your breakfast to complete your on-the-go breakfast.
