Boston is a a big tourist city full of attractions. Here are 5 Boston destinations you need to see during your next visit. You’ll be feeling like a true Bostonian by the end of your trip!

1.Boston Aquarium

The aquarium is very popular among tourists and receives over a million visitors just over the course of the year alone. It serves a dual purpose as an educational resources on animals, but also just a fun place to bring friends and family. It allows you to see hundreds of different animals and species and you can even touch a few of them, too! One of their largest and most popular exhibits is the penguin exhibit located in the center of the aquarium. In addition to the animals there is also an IMAX theater that features different movies about animals and planet earth.

If you visit between the months of April and November they even provide whale watching!

2. Museum of Fine Arts

This popular art museum is located right by Northeastern University and is very accessible by train. Its one of the largest museums in the United States featuring more than 450,000 works of art. It contains a number of different exhibits such Ancient Egyptian, Contemporary America, the Renaissance Era, and much more. They are constantly updating and putting new exhibits in, allowing you to look forward to something new each time you visit. Be sure to check the website for when they offer free tickets and other special events. It is a must-see sight for visitors who are interested in art and museums.

3. Fenway Park

This attraction is for my tourists who enjoy a good sports game. Fenway Park is home to the Boston Red which is the city’s major league baseball team. Historically, it’s the oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball. The park provides a great environment for family where they can enjoy food and a game. It’s also great for friends to crack open a beer and cheer their favorite team on. You’ll be happy you visited this high-energy and fun Boston landmark.

4. Faneuil Hall Market Place

Faneuil Hall Market Place consists of over 70 retailers and 40 office tenants occupying the 200,000 square feet of retail and 160,000 square feet of space, providing a highly popular mixed-use festival marketplace. A number of local vendors and talent can always be spotted at this Boston destination. Faneuil Hall Market Place is known for constantly carrying a number of various street performers such as magicians, dancers, and musicians. No matter when you decide to visit, you’re always in for a surprise or an experience that’s slightly different from your last visit. This trademark Boston landmark is always buzzing with people, especially in the summer.  It’s a large shopping center with many stores and even more restaurants. It’s also great for nightlife with a number of different bars to bar hop. Aside from all the fun, it’s also a big historical site where you can learn a lot about the history of Boston. Faneuil Hall Market Place has been standing in Boston since 1742, originally designed to be a central marketplace in Boston (oddly enough it still is!). There are also many other historical facts posted all around the market place, allowing you to learn more of its origins and impact on Boston. The Boston Common is a great site to visit because it is like an attraction within other attractions. The Boston Common is a large park located in the heart of Boston. It’s always busy with with people and is a great place to go for a walk or to lay out a blanket and have a picnic. It also serves a historical purpose with monuments and information on some of Bostons most famous historical figures.

The Bostons Common is quite large and stretches to Downtown Boston and Newbury Street (which are also some great Boston destinations to visit). Newbury Street is an even larger shopping area that features many high-end stores.

6. The Prudential Center

Anyone visiting Boston for the first time must see this trademark Boston destination. It captures the true beauty and energy of the city. The best thing about the Prudential Center is that there are plenty of things to do! It is located in the heart of Boston on Boylston Street, an area that is always buzzing with people. The Prudential Center offers a number of retail shopping stores, including brands such as Mac, Aldo, Ann Taylor, and many more! There are over 75 stores and restaurants in total. One of the most popular attractions of the prudential center is the sky walk observatory. It’s Boston’s only sky-high vantage viewing point. The prudential tower stands at 749 ft tall and provides a 360-degree view of the beautiful Boston landscape.
