Board Games You Will Actually Want To Play This Quarantine

Honey, I get it- You have beautiful memories of family game nights. Playing hours of UNO with your mom, staying up late solving murder mysteries with your brother, and playing a game of monopoly that ALWAYS seemed to end in a fight over who stole the pink fifties -it was grandma.

Its time for Mr. Monopoly and his closest friends to step aside; I’ve got a brand-new generation of board games on rotation, and they pair great with a cheap bottle of wine. From games that require a little strategy to drawing without dignity, here are board games you will actually want to play during this quarantine.

Settlers Of Catan

Build new settlements, pillage villages for resources, and build an army as no world has seen before. The Settlers of Catan board game is all about discovering and settling in new lands before anyone else has the chance. Yes, this one can take up to 24 hours to play, but right now, we’ve got nothing but time. Spice it up and add on some seriously fun extension packs. Grab your telescope and give in to your inner pioneer. Land ho!

Drunk Confidence

We challenge you to show off your twerking skills, test out your best British accent, or sing Bon Jovi songs until your lungs are blue. Challenge accepted. You know your drunk when you can do something with confidence, and that is exactly what this game tests. Laugh along with your family and friends as you are challenged to do funny-and slightly embarrassing things. Grab your drink and join in on the fun. Who’s with me?

The Game of Life: Quarter Life Crisis

This is not a drill. Instead of trying to snag the victorian house and accountant salary cards in the OG game of life, you’ll pull cards like “Lose your Wifi” and “Call in sick to binge-watch.” .This hilarious spin on the classic game we all grew to love starts you out in mind-boggling debt. The premise of the game? Make it out debt-free and alive. Each action card also includes a hilarious dare that you have to complete to continue in the game. Warning: May get flashbacks of living in your parent’s basement.

Monopoly: Game of Thrones

Winter isn’t coming, it’s here and so is this spin-off of the classic monopoly board game. Choose your house and test your luck as you make your way around the various lands throughout the seven kingdoms. The Game of Thrones Monopoly also includes coins instead of colorful money, chance cards from the Lancasters send their regards, and an iron throne cardholder that plays the theme song to the show we all love. Minus the bloodshed- this game is fun for all GOT lovers that are stuck bored in their castle.

Fog of Love

Grab your boo for this fun and flirty two-player board game. You and your partner will create two separate characters who meet, fall in love, and face the challenge of making an unusual relationship work. Submerse yourself in a game that is much like being trapped in your favorite romantic comedy. You are in for roller-coaster rides, awkward situations, lots of laughs, and plenty of painful compromises to work through.

Nothing puts your friendship to test like the voting game. This is a great way to blow off some steam and get to know your loved ones a little bit better. Pro tip: Drinks are required.

We all remember playing a game of telephone with our friends at sleepovers. The classic “She said what?” game has been transformed into a fun game where your drawing skills are put to the test. You are assigned a word or phrase to draw; then everyone has to guess what it is. Shockingly entertaining and harder than it sounds, it is no mystery why this is one of the best board games around.
