Wawa is so much more than a gas station. Wawa is a way of life, it is an experience. Wawa is not only clean, but offers a plethora of delicious foods. Wawa is not just your one stop spot for gas because Wawa offers a variety of things like fresh coffee, out of this world sandwiches (I eat lunch there on the reg,) and multiple services for your car. Wawa is the crème de la crème of gas stations- no convenient stores, and if you have never been to Wawa I suggest you add that to your to do list. If I haven’t convinced you yet, let me offer you a list of 10 Things I Love About Wawa. Wawa- the name just rolls off the tongue.
Wawa hoagies are heavenly, so much so Wawa practically doubles as a sandwich shop. You can order your hoagie hot, you can order your hoagie cold, you can get one of Wawa’s specialty hoagies, or customize your hoagie however you want. The best part is you don’t even need to interact with anyone to do so. Wawa has touch screen computers set up inside their convenient stores for customers to use to place their orders. The hoagies are bomb, but so are the other items that Wawa café offers, which thankfully you also order using the touch screen computers. Other delicious food items from Wawa include, but are not limited to specialty coffees, handcrafted beverages, soups, quesadillas, salads- the list goes on and on. Another thing I like about Wawa hoagies is they call them hoagies. It may be the sentimental side of me, but the original Wawa was in New Jersey, and Northerners unlike the rest of the world who call long sandwiches subs, call them by their proper name hoagies. I know this since my mom is from New Jersey, and my dad is from New York. So my family never referred to them as subs, but hoagies. And like they say- home is where the hoagie is.
Wawa coffee is not your typical gas station coffee, which is usually undrinkable, and something you only consume out of necessity when you’re on a long distance road trip, or running late for work. Wawa on the other hand, does not sell shitty coffee which has most likely been sitting out all day like all other gas stations. Wawa offers always fresh, delicious coffee, in multiple flavors. It is a rule from the Wawa gods, that Wawa employees dump their coffee, and make a fresh pot every hour or so, therefore you never get an old cup of coffee. It makes me feel like a Rockefeller. Not only that, but like I said Wawa has a large variety of coffee flavors to choose from like French vanilla, hazelnut, Columbian, the list goes on and on. Speaking of options Wawa also has a large selection of creamers to choose from. My favorite being their fat free French vanilla because I’m a foe skinny bitch. But like seriously what other gas station offers fat free anything, let alone creamer.
I’m sorry this may be a controversial statement but Auntie Anne’s pretzels have nothing on Wawa’s freshly baked soft pretzels. There I said it. Wawa offers cream cheese pretzels, cheddar cheese pretzels, or jalapeno pretzels. You can find them under the hot lamps by the register. These pretzels are so tasty I dream about them. All flavors are good, but the cream cheese one is by far the best. It just melts in your mouth.
Speaking of jalapenos, my other favorite little snack from Wawa is their delicious jalapeno poppers, which you can also find under the hot lamps by the register. Wawa jalapeno poppers are so good, I literally can not order jalapeno poppers as an appetizer at any restaurant I go to anymore because they just don’t compare to Wawa’s jalapeno poppers.
Another convenient option under the hot lamps are Wawa’s breakfast sandwiches. Also bomb, and always the better option than some fast food place’s breakfast especially if you are running late to work or something, and need a quick breaky. But of course you can only get these delicious sandwiches in the morning because like I everything at Wawa is always fresh.
I don’t know if this is just specific to my Wawa, or all Wawa offer this service. Regardless it is so magical that Wawa does this. Ergo I feel it’s important to include on my list. Anyway my local Wawa offers free air in your car tires, customer or not anyone can just roll up, and fill your tire with air- like who does that? I’ll tell you who, Wawa.
Wawa is so clean if someone offered me $100 to lick the floor of a Wawa I may not say no, I don’t know if that says more about Wawa’s cleanliness or my current financial situation, either way Wawa is fricken clean. So much so you don’t look like a dirty freak if you chose to stay and sit at one of Wawa’s outside tables, and have a quaint hoagie lunch. And unlike most gas station bathrooms that make you contemplate just peeing your pants or risk getting a tetanus shot, Wawa’s bathrooms are super clean.
Wawa’s regular business hours or as followed, weekdays: the stores are open 24 hours a day, Monday through Friday. And Weekends? Wawa is still open 24 hours, mofos, which means you can get a delicious hoagie after a night of drinking- plus that is when it really hits.
The most wonderful time of the year is not dumb Christams, but Wawa’s Siptopia, where you can get any size coffee for just 2 fricken bucs. The other best Wawa promotion is definitely HoagieFest, which is a literal hoagie festival!
Wawa was already convenient thanks to their touch screen computers, but now Wawa is convenient AF due to Wawa’s new app. This allows customers to bypass the in store ordering touchscreens and place a built to order fresh food or beverage item ahead of time.
