These summer sangria recipes will have you wishing that summer will never end. When you think of summer you think of relaxing outside sipping your favorite beverage and what’s a better warm-weather drink than a sangria? It’s fruity, cold, and tasty! Everything you could ask for. Cheers to warm weather with these summer sangria recipes that will have you relaxed all season long!

If you didn’t know- sangria is an alcoholic beverage from Spain that mixes red wine and fruit with other ingredients added to taste. Sangria is the most popular Spanish drink, although Spaniards don’t really drink it. They do, on the other hand, prize themselves on creating it. People just can’t seem to get enough!

1. Easy Traditional Red Sangria

This sangria from Minimalist Baker is so easy that it takes just 5 minutes to make and has 6 ingredients. With this recipe, you will have 4 servings and it keeps for 48 hours, so drink up!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 medium apple (core removed, skin on and cut in small pieces)
  • 1/2 medium orange (seeds removed, rind on, cut in small pieces)
  • 3-4 tbsp organic brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/3 cup brandy or rum
  • 750 ml bottle of dry Spanish red wine
  • 1 cup ice

Instructions:

  1. Add sliced fruit (apples and oranges) and sugar to large pitcher and mix with wooden spoon for 45 seconds.
  2. Add orange juice and brandy or rum and mix for 30 seconds.
  3. Add red wine and stir it into other ingredients. Add more orange juice or brandy or rum to fit taste.
  4. Add ice then stir once more. Add more ice if needed and garnish glass with orange slices (optional).
  5. Store in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours.

2. The BEST Sangria Recipe!

There’s no authentic sangria recipe, but Gimme Some Oven’s is the closest you’re going to get to a true Spanish sangria just in time for summer!

Ingredients:

  • 2 bottles of Spanish red wine (most people prefer Rioja but feel free to use any red wine you have)
  • 1/2 cup Brandy (you can also use cognac or orange liqueur)
  • 2 oranges
  • 1 green apple
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Optional sweetener-to taste  (Sugar or brown sugar melted into a syrup with equal parts sugar and water or you can use honey or maple syrup)
  • Optional bubbles-to taste (this is a preference thing but you can add a bubbly soda like Sprite, ginger ale or sparkling water to give your sangria a kick)

Instructions:

  1. Chop fruit (1 orange, lemon, and apple)
  2. Combine diced fruit, wine brandy, juice of one orange, and cinnamon stick into a pitcher
  3. Add sweetened (1 or 2 Tbsp until satisfied)
  4. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving
  5. Serve sangria over ice

3. The Best Red Sangria

Of all our summer sangria recipes, this Cookie and Cake concoction is perfect for summer days while you’re relaxing with friends under the sun. This recipe calls for fresh fruit and good wine without any artificial sweeteners to make the tastiest sangria you’ve ever had.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle of Garnacha or Pinot Noir-chilled (Garnacha comes from Spain so it is highly recommended)
  • 1 large orange
  • 1 small lemon
  • 1 cup seasonal fruit like apples, strawberries, and peaches
  • 1/2 cup Brandy (E&J or VSOP)
  • 1-2 Tbsp of sweetener (maple syrup)
  • Ice (for serving)

Instructions:

  1. Slice orange in half from stem downward. Squeeze juice of one half into a pitcher then dice other half and place in the pitcher
  2. Add diced seasonal fruit and lemon
  3. Add brandy and maple syrup
  4. Pour wine into the pitcher and stir to combine
  5. Taste and add another Tbsp of maple syrup if desired
  6. Serve immediately or let marinate for a couple of hours
  7. Serve with ice

This perfectly sweet sangria from Delish is light and super fruity without being too sweet. This recipe takes 10 minutes and serves 6-8 people. If you’re not into overly-sweet drinks but are dying to make sangria-this is the recipe for you!

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle red wine
  • 1 can seltzer
  • 1 cup of orange juice
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 orange (sliced)
  • 1 apple (sliced)
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup strawberries (sliced)

Directions:

  1. In a large pitcher, combine wine, seltzer, orange juice, brandy, and sugar
  2. Stir in oranges, apples, blueberries, and strawberries

If you’re an ambitious mixologist and want a more flavorful, interesting sangria, this is the recipe for you. This sangria recipe from All Recipes includes frozen lemonade and maraschino cherries for an extra kick! This recipe takes 10 minutes to prep, 20 to make and 30 altogether.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup frozen lemonade concentrate
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 1 bottle of dry red wine
  • 1/2 cup triple sec
  • 1 lemon (sliced)
  • 1 orange (sliced)
  • 1 lime (sliced)
  • 1/4 cup white sugar (optional)
  • 8 maraschino cherries
  • 2 cups carbonated water

Instructions:

  1. In a large pitcher or bowl mix the brandy, lemon juice, lemonade concentrate, orange juice, red wine, triple sec and sugar.
  2. Place in slices of lemon, orange, lime, and maraschino cherries into mixture.
  3. Refrigerate overnight and pour in club soda before serving

Ingredients:

  • 2 bottles of red Spanish table wine
  • 1 cup brandy
  • 1/2 cup triple sec
  • 1 cup of orange juice
  • 1 cup pomegranate juice
  • 1/2 cup simple syrup
  • Orange slices
  • Apple slices
  • Blackberries
  • Pomegranate seeds

Instructions:

  1. Mix all the ingredients together in the order listed and refrigerate for 24 hours in a tightly sealed pitcher.
