During the summer especially, it is super important to incorporate SPF into your regular skincare and makeup routine if you plan on being outside. Though you may not want to wear any makeup at all, if you plan on wearing makeup – you need to think of SPF as another step into keeping your skin healthy and glowing all summer long. You may know of IT Cosmetics and their brow products. I first discovered them at Sephora a few years ago when I was looking for new products to shape my eyebrows and make them look fuller. Aside from their Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil, IT Cosmetics has amazing products that have SPF in them. My absolute favorite way to wear any face makeup is a moisturizer. Whether I’m looking for a tinted moisturizer for a natural look, or something more full coverage – using a moisturizer instead of a foundation has made my skin appear and look smoother, even in the driest and coldest months. The “Bye Bye Foundation Full-Coverage Moisturizer” by IT Cosmetics has been the best product I’ve found for achieving both a natural and full face makeup look. Obviously, since it’s called full-coverage moisturizer, it does feel thicker when it’s applied. Also, it is definitely buildable, but a little goes a long way. This highly rated product protects against your skin aging and is made with SPF 50+ sunscreen. It works as the best alternative to foundation because of how powerful it is at covering up redness, blemishes, dark spots, etc. If you want a lightweight feel but good coverage, the “Bye Bye Foundation Full-Coverage Moisturizer” is one of the best SPF products you can try this summer. If you are used to using a CC cream, or have wanted to try one before – IT Cosmetics has the product for you. Now, they make a couple CC+ Creams for everyday wear. This one specifically is the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Illumination with SPF 50+. While I’ve tried both the CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ and this one, I would have to say the illuminating cream is better for the summer. As we know CC stands for color correcting, this cream works wonders if you want to even out undertones. You can learn a lot about skin undertones when figuring out which shade of the 12 available might work best for you. This product has SPF 50+ sunscreen in it, and it also has “micronized light-reflecting pigments” (as stated on their website.) What does that mean? So basically, you will notice a shine to your face when using this product – you may see a little or a lot, depending on how much you use of the product. This is a full-coverage product, and the more you use, the more you may see a subtle glow to your skin. The CC+ Cream Illumination works best for your summer makeup routine, since it gives your skin a radiant look while keeping it hydrated and smooth throughout the day.
It is no surprise that Supergoop! products have great reviews. The “Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40” protects your skin from the sun, while leaving your face with a dewy glow. This product works as a primer for your face makeup, and can also just be worn alone for a natural shine throughout the day. Not only will it leave your skin feeling soft and looking fresh, it is also full of hyaluronic acid – which is essential for achieving soft, moisturized skin. This is one of best SPF products for summer, especially because one of its ingredients is cocoa peptides – which helps keep your skin protected against blue light. Supergoop! is known for their SPF products, and is just one of many of their products that should be checked out for the summer.

During the summer, it is important to carry a lip balm with SPF in it. Fresh’s sugar lip balm sunscreen SPF 15 is the perfect go-to for a tinted lip balm that will also help protect you from the sun. Available in 12 shades, and one colorless shade, this lip balm will leave your lips feeling hydrated. You can decide from their range of colors how much pigment you want your lip balm to have, and you will have a new favorite lip product to add to your makeup bag. From dark purple, soft pink and bright red, there are definitely a lot of options to choose from for colors, and some lip balms may even be more buildable if you’re looking for a color that stands out more. And, it’s great that we can reapply tinted lip balm throughout the day without our lips getting dry like they would sometimes with lipsticks.
