Best Self-tanning Products for a Natural Summer Glow
Summer is just around the corner and you know what that means! It is finally that time to get that bronzed look we have been waiting for all summer long. Laying out is a summer hobby that many dabble in, including me. I always look forward to getting a summer glow and count down the days until the weather is warm enough to do so.
While tanning is an exciting activity for some, others dread it. If you have fair skin, getting a natural tan can be merely impossible because of the risk of burning to a crisp. Laying out is also not the healthiest option and it might be the best to steer away from too much sun. Being exposed to UV rays might have detrimental life long effects and sitting out on these activities might be the best thing to do. But how can you look bronzed without laying in the sun?
Self-tanning products are a great option for people who want to stay away from the UV’s but want the same results of someone who does lay out. They are also a cheaper alternative to going to a tanning salon for a fake tan. There are many self-tanning products on the market, but some leave you streaky, too dark or just straight up dry out your skin. I have personally had many failed attempts with self-tanning products before I found my favorites.
Here is a list of my favorite self-tanning products that will make you have the perfect summer glow. I have gathered these options from personal experience and hope my insight will help you choose the best product for you
Jergens Natural Glow +FIRMING In-shower Self-Tanner
I was shocked by how well this product worked when I tried it. First off, I have tried another one of Jergens’ self tanners in the past and was not happy with the results, so my hopes were already low. I also have never heard of an in shower tanning product and that initially scared me, but the results were great. My skin looked naturally tan and there was no streakage left over. This self-tanning product also requires zero wait time which is unheard of with self tanners. If you want a realistic tan in minutes, this is definitely the product for you.
Tarte Brazilliance PLUS+ Self-Tanner
Tarte is known for making products that are nourishing for your skin and this self tanner does just that and more. I have never used a self tanner that has left me with such smooth and hydrated skin. It is also packed with vitamins, so you are guaranteed to feel refreshed from this self-tanning product. Tarte has other self tanning products that I have tried and thoroughly enjoyed, but this one tops them all.
Supergoop! Healthy Glow Sunless Tan SPF 40
Supergoop! not only gives you an impressive bronzed glow, but it also keeps you protected from the sun. This product has SPF 40 in it! You will be sporting your golden goddess tan while not having to worry about getting burnt from the sun. The results of the product are subtle but are perfect if you are trying to achieve a more natural look. The one con about this product is that the product does not apply as easy as some of the other products on this list, but the results are still well worth it.
St. Tropez Self-Tan Express Advanced Bronzing Mousse
St. Tropez is known for making the best self tanning products on the market and has raving reviews on websites like Amazon, Sephora and Ulta. This product is prided on having the best even tan without patchiness and I have to agree that the results are impressive. If you are looking for a tan on the darker side, this is the product for you. The mousse consistency of the product also allows an easy and smooth application. This product is definitely a fan favorite for a reason and you should try it out.
IL MAKIAGE 85/66 Magic Moisturizing Sun Foam
This product is new on the market and is the most recent self-tanner I purchased. IL MAKIAGE is known for their perfect color matching concealers and foundations, but they recently made a new self tanning product. I did not know what to expect, but the product was pleasant to use. This self tanner comes with a Kabuki brush for easy application and the foam consistency of the formula also makes the application process effortless. The only con I have is that not many stores sell this product and you might have to take a trip to Sephora or order it directly from their website. The results were the perfect amount of bronze and I will definitely be using this product consistently.
Bondi Sands Self-Tanning Foam
Just like IL MAKIAGE’s tanner, Bondi Sands has a foamy consistency making the application easy. This tanner gives the darkest results on this list, so if you are looking for a deep color, you should definitely purchase this tanner. Bondi Sands is also sold at CVS, making it more accessible and reasonably priced than other tanners on this list.
Isle of Paradise
I have used every product in Isle of Paradise’s collection and I have got to say… They are my favorite company on this list. Not only do their products give you the perfect pigment of tan that complements your natural tone, but it also adds a shimmer to your skin. Their body butter is my personal favorite because of how smooth the application process is. Unlike some of the products in this list, Isle of Paradise products don’t transfer or leave residue on your clothing. Not to mention, the ingredients in their products are amazing for your skin and leave it smooth and supple. Try Isle of Paradise for a tan that is equivalent to getting a professional tan for a fraction of the price.
You will not be disappointed with any of these self-tanning products. They all offer unique qualities, but you are guaranteed to find what you are looking for in this list. What are your favorite self-tanning products?
