State College may not be too big, but it sure does have a lot to offer. Here are my personal favorite, and some of the more popular, restaurants in State College, PA.
Location: 232 Allen Street State College, PA 16802
Personal Favorite: Chicken Pad Thai
Cozy Thai defines ideal comfort food. They have their main location on Allen Street as
well as a smaller restaurant, Galanga, that has a casual set up and features their more
popular dishes.
Location: 128 E College Ave, State College, PA 16802
Personal Favorite: Gluten Free Personal Pizza
I have celiacs disease so it is rare that I find pizza that is delicious, rather than “good for
gluten-free.” I definitely recommend anyone gluten-free give it a try! The restaurant has a
cute atmosphere with football game dates posted on a blackboard and TVs. In addition
to their pizzas, they also offer chicken parm, pasta, and subs!
Location: 324 E College Ave, State College, PA 16802
Personal Favorite: Espresso frozen yogurt with crushed heath bar topping
An adorable frozen yogurt shop offering a large variety of yogurt flavors and toppings. If
you find yourself returning often, be sure to ask for a punch card that gets you a free
yogurt after 10 purchases! You can also sign up for their emails to get coupons and
notifications for new flavors!
Location: 244 W College Ave, State College, PA 16802
Personal Favorite: Pesto Cavatappi or Penne Rosa
Noodles and company offer a delicious variety of special pasta and side dishes. They
have fast service and you can order online or in-house. If you download their app you
get rewards and freebies!
Location: 206 W College Ave, State College, PA 16802
Personal Favorite: Crunchy Roll
Arguably the best sushi in Central PA! A little more on the expensive side but Tadashi
will not fail to fill your sushi cravings.
Location: 134 W College Ave, State College, PA 16802
Personal Favorite: ri-pear-ian
A large portion of fresh, yummy veggies!! You will feel great and full after a salad and the
restaurant has a cute bar next to the window that looks out on college ave. It is a great
place to get your homework done and enjoy a healthy lunch. There are restaurants in State College, PA for everyone! Even you health nuts.
Location: 364 E College Ave, State College, PA 16802
Personal Favorite: eggs overheard and hashbrowns
There is a line out the door that speaks for itself. The Waffle Shop is the perfect spot for
breakfast, brunch, or lunch because it’s always a perfect time for breakfast food! Their
hot chocolates and coffees are to die for as well as their large range of options from
waffles to omelets to breakfast meats! There are some really great restaurants in State College, PA.
Location: 1 Country Club Ln, State College, PA 16802
Personal Favorite: Salted Caramel Pretzel Shake
The Field is an adorable restaurant that provides not only delicious food but a satisfying
experience. When you order the fries, they spread them on the table in front of you.
There are notorious for their delectable shakes, classic or spiked!!
Location: 401 E Beaver Ave, State College, PA 16802
Personal Favorite: Pesto Zone
The perfect place to satisfy your munchies and most likely hate yourself over it after.
These guilty calzones are filled with all of your favorites from the “mac daddy zone”
stuffed with macaroni and bacon or the”chicken parmazone” stuffed with chicken,
mozzarella, and parmesan. They are most popular from midnight-3 am…no surprise
there.
Location: 220 E College Ave, State College, PA 16802
Personal Favorite: The Salmon Dish with a side of garlic green beans
The best part of The Tavern is the unlimited free sides. Yes you read that correctly, as
many servings of as many sides as you want all for free. The restaurant holds an
an abundance of Penn State history hung up on all of their walls from old photos to treaties to cartoons.
