Need some hydrating products for dry hair? I have been searching for products to add hydration back to my hair as opposed to simply coating it with wax to make it feel soft. That feels like putting a band-aid on a gun wound so to speak. I am not naturally blonde, but I do get highlights frequently and the bleach really does a number on my hair’s health. It feels dry, tangles more easily, and does not feel as naturally silky as I would like. There are lots of products out there that help to add back the moisture that you’ve lost. Here are 10 of the best products to use for healthy, hydrated hair.
If you are looking for a product to help restore hydration from color treated, heat styled hair, or processed hair, this conditioning treatment may be right for you. It is a super affordable option and can be found in drug stores or online on websites like Amazon. You can use it every day as conditioner if necessary, or use it a couple times a week as a hair mask.
This hair mask is really great for chemically treated hair and was recommended to me by my hair stylist the last time I got highlights. It is made using Monoi oil and hydrolyzed silk as opposed to parabens, petroleum, mineral oil, or artificial Colors to help prevent damage. It is great for all hair types from fine to thick. Leave it in for 10-15 minutes while you’re in the shower, rinse, and you will start to notice your hair feeling healthier.
A little on the pricier side but definitely worth it if you have thicker or more textured hair. Use it for just five minutes and notice a difference. It is made with antioxidant-rich argan oil and other nourishing ingredients that help repair damaged hair and improves its elasticity and overall health. You can order it online, or pick it up at your local Sephora. One of our favorite products for dry hair!
Keratin is a protein that is super beneficial in healthy hair. Keratin Complex describes this product as a “dessert for your hair.” I don’t know about you but that’s enough to make me want to buy it (good marketing, you got me there). It is a whipped conditioner that is mainly used to prevent breakage and help with split ends. It is great for any hair type and is helpful in restoring softness and shine.
This product is great for dry, damaged hair because it is super moisturizing. It is made with babassu oil, witch hazel, rosemary, nettle, and vegetable protein. Its goal is to hydrate, prevent frizz and color fading, and remove product buildup. It is a more affordable option and can be found at many department stores or online.
This product is best for color treated hair, dry hair, or damaged hair and is great for preventing frizz and heat damage when your hair feels dry after styling it. All you have to do is run a pea-sized amount throughout your hair. It is made with argan oil, jojoba oil, vegetable oil, vitamin E, and thermal conditioner. This is great to apply to wet hair or blow dried hair.
If you are someone who experiments frequently with box dyeing (we’ve all been there), or if you regularly dye your hair at the salon, this product will help restore hydration after it undergoes a color change. Another great option for products for dry hair!
This product is specifically for curly or wavy hair. It aids in preventing frizz and static while hydrating and leaving your hair shiny and healthy. It is especially great for curly hair in the summertime because it helps to fight against humidity. Apply this product to curly hair to help shape and hold your natural curl.
Olaplex Hair Perfector is not a conditioner, but rather an at home treatment that would be similar to one that you would receive at the salon. This is a great option when looking for products for dry hair! It can be used on virtually every hair type, and it helps to strengthen hair by hydrating and “relinks the broken disulfide bonds caused by chemical, thermal and mechanical damage to the hair” according to Sephora. You should only use this product once a week.
If you are looking for a cheap product that is recommended by stylists, look no further than this Neutrogena leave in conditioner. It is perfect for dry and damaged hair and a great on the go option. As a bonus, it contains UV filters, so it protects your hair from the sun, which is perfect for the upcoming beach season.
